any issues with balancing or the wheels chipping? And how long have you had them done?

    brake dust...

all that really matters is that you can touch it up later easily because eventually you will hit something if your taking it offroad :D

I used $1.99 Rustoleum semi gloss and my prep involved washing the wheels with dish soap and taping off the back.

No balancing problems so far. I've had a few chips after I first sprayed them but I just covered the lug nuts, center cap and put plastic bags behind the gaps in the wheel and spayed the scratched areas heavely but lighly recoated the whole wheel. Looked like new after I was done. I sprayed them in September last year.
Anything you use on your wheels will eventually chip but how easy can you retouch the surface? My last chip took out some metal, nothing would have held up to that. To fix it I sprayed some bedliner on cardboard and used a Q-tip as a paint brush to apply it, I can barely tell where that spot is unless I really try to find it.

I was seriously considering rattle can bed liner just for durability over paint. Thanks for the info.

isn't Rustoleum bed liner impossible to clean when muddy?

Rustoleum hammered would be much easier to maintain IMO.

    I used this stuff...

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002O0OTTC?ie=UTF8&force-full-site=1

Bought the wheels on CL for $125. They were already painted black, but it was a bad job. I had them sand blasted for $20 a wheel, used a rattle can self etching primer, then had my friend shoot them with the paint I mentioned above(no clear needed). I've had them on the truck for over 2,000 miles and it's holding up great.

The white mark on the bottom is on the inside of the wheel and is adhesive/paper from a label that was there. Any little marks that may look like scratches or chips are really just some spots of dirt.

I ordered black Gorilla lugs through Discount Tire for $2 per lug nut.

I've also had tires installed, removed, and a new set installed. Discount Tire didn't scratch or harm the paint at all...not sure if that's a reflection of the care they took during installs/removal, or if it's because the paint is so durable, maybe/probably both!?
