I have noticed in numerous pictures both on this forum and on other Taco forums that A LOT of people either buy black wheels or paint there OEM wheels black. I personally like the black look, but I have always been the type of guy who likes to go against the grain in many things. So if you have the time, please answer this poll. I am very interested. Post pics if you like.

IMO i love the painted black oem's i did it on my old 4runner but painting them yourself they will chip. its cheap and looks good for a while but if you want the wheels to stay looking good maybe consider powder coating if you want to spend like 60-80 a wheel. but for my taco i have aftermarket black wheels.

    YEAH totally a joke. :spy:

I am thinking of black OEM as well. I just dont want

a.) to pay for powdercoating when I could just get better rims
b.) look at them and see rock chips all the time.

Personally, I am not a fan of black wheels.

But hey, to each their own. If someone else thinks they look good, then that's all that's important.

I wanted to keep my 17" TRD sport wheels and powdercoat them black but, with the price to powdercoat and the spacers (to fit a 285 tire) comes out to be the same of just buying some new wheels with the correct 4.5 back spacing.

It was just a catch. I could have put "other", but then some smarty pants would have said rainbow.:p

So far it is just as I had expected. About half of the trucks have black rims in some way or another. All other variants, including original make up the other half. That's a whole lotta black wheels.
