When going over bumps, even small ones at slow speed with the driver side front tire, I would hear this noise coming from the front left corner that sounds like a line of dangling washers being jostled around.. Looked in the wheel well and under the hood and has found nothing loose to make this noise... What could it be!? Truck just had a new CV put in on the driver side.. a quick look at the CV reveals no loose clamps dangling... Although I can't say for sure whether the noise was there before the CV was put in, since the sound can only be heard with the windows down and at slow speeds since wind noise eventually blocks it out.

Haven't crawled under the truck yet...

I had a similar sound that turned out to be from the sway bar; the rubber boots on each side and rotted away and the washers from each end would jostle together.

Okay it turns out I can reproduce the rattle if I close my driver side door with some force. Not slamming it hard but more force than a gently close...

Almost sounds like rattle of an empty spray pain..

knocked on the inside door panel and found nothing... Sound sounds like it's coming from the engine bay area, towards the wheel.

is it coming from the door itself? i know there is a bolt halfway down the door that comes loose and when it does something in the door rattles around, especially when the windows down.

arggh.. just went out side to record the sound.. now slamming on the door doesn't make the sound... tells me that what ever was loose settled and no longer can be triggered by slamming the door.

Where is this nut you're referring to? is it on the pivot side or the lock side?

okay narrowed it down to somewhere in the front-left wheel.. I was able to pound on the rims with my fist and produce a high pinging rattle. What part could behind the wheel that causes this type of sound? Seeming how my fist was able to produce the sound, I assume it's not a part that is load bearing?

I was having a similar sound over bumps, my brake pad clip came loose and was hitting something over bumps. I just hit it back into place.

Did you do or have any work done on your brakes recently? Pull your wheel off and give it a look
