I saw some digs in the rhino, and it was flaking off at the tabs here and there. I’ve only had the powder coated ones for about a month, probably like 2 weeks really. I like the look of it better and it’s much easier to clean.

Definitely, looks clean though! Are you able to use it as a step at all?

If you need steps for the Mrs or kiddos and still want good protection, then the 0 or 5 is a no brainer. I personally like the tucked in look of the 25 degree and the extra clearance, but I’m a poser not a rock crawler so 0 deg. with top plate is ideal for me, my young hot Latina fiance and my two kids from the previous Goblin i was married to.

    pinstripes. lots of pinstripes.
Have to add another option that I'm looking at. C4 makes an angled slider with flat step that might be of use.

i got the 5 degree RCI sliders and at first i had remorse and i wished i had gotten the 20 degree for looks. i wheel in tight forest type trails though and the flatter style and kick out has gotten me around trees/stumps in a way that i am not sure the 20 degree ones would have. if its all cosmetic then go with whatever. if you wheel thats something to consider.

I'm glad I went with my 0° caliraised sliders. The step is really useful when messing with stuff on the roof rack, also it's very secure when hi-lift jacking.

With the kickout I can go kickout -> bedside -> roof in 3 steps. Also the kickout is generally a nice place to be if I need to be working on the roof for a bit, or I'm leaning over my fridge to adjust something deep in my cab.

After doing the Rubicon and a bit of Moab they haven't really gotten hung up on anything, and have deflected/absorbed plenty, so I'm not convinced that with my driving style the angled siders would grant any significant improvements in performance.

Also the extra protection vs. parking lot damage is nice, as the sliders stick out past the door by a slight amount. I'm not sure if that's true for some of the angled sliders, they seem more flush or slightly behind the outermost bulge of the door panel.

I went with custom zero degree, and spec’d them ‘high and tight’. Lol

Still pretty happy with the decision. Just enough room to stand on them to access the roof rack, and a bigger platform for hopping into the bed.

Perrhaps not as much protection against trees and side boulders as a standard set, but they are more than sufficient for anything below them.

If you want to use the sliders more for steps, go for the 0 degree flat ones. I have BAMF 0, had RSG 0 on my 4Runner, and now have RCI 5 on my 4Runner. Even the 5 degree ones are pretty low profile and tucked in pretty well. Wish they stuck out more - my wife likes the 0 ones better as a step. For the RCI, we actually have to step in with our feet perpendicular to the body to get our feet nice and planted. If we just use the balls of our feet, there's not enough room until it hits the body.

RCI 20 degree. If I remember correctly, they are 65-70lbs per side.
