OME 884’s ,Dakar hd’s, Jba uca, lce header, 4.88’s, Arb locker , j shift tcase-T4R, arb bumper, leer topper, 3500w inverter, mad wife, scratched paint, skid plates, snorkelerer, led flush mount reverse lights, etc..
Well I found a 2015 4Runner tcase on eBay listed for $545, ended up getting it for $425 with 13k miles on it. It’s the same exact t case as 2nd gens just manual shift. I have to swap my input shaft from my current one to the new one though. Really the total cost will be the tcase and your time if you’re handy enough to do the work yourself.

I got a quote of $500 to put it in by a shop but if I’m capable enough to do it I’m keeping that money.

I have a TRD Sport ... not the craptastic sport suspension any longer .... no chin strap average 15mpg... is that what you call "way better"?

found the Sport suspension to be:

    1 harsh
    2 bouncy
3 Too much roll around turns
    4 off road terrible points to #1 & #2
    5 Axle wrap...

It's like that girl friend you had once.. first few weeks of your relationship, in heaven. Then you started noticing all the reasons why she was still single. Just sayin.

Let's take a look at this:

The Tacomas are currently built in two plants. They are built on an assembly line using the same parts, manufacturing methods and assembly process. They are designed to be identical with few variations such as interior, paint and a few features. They build 16K of them a month. Yes, there is a chance of getting a "bad" one, but it is small.

People are organically grown under wildly different circumstances. They come from different backgrounds, raised in different households under different rules. No two people are exactly alike. People have both naturally and learned skill sets. Some people need constant care. Some people are leaders, some are followers. Some are gifted in math, some are gifted in art. Some people are large, some are small. Some are educated, some are not. Some are warriors, some are pacifists.

I respectfully ask - Is it the truck that is different or the people who drive them report things differently....

DING... we have a whiner! Wiener.... errrr winner.

It's says right there on the truck OFF ROAD... not Highway Road. Why were you driving on the road when it's an OFF ROAD? The Sport was made for all conditions on and off road! That's why it says "Sport".

Just to note that has not been my experience at all, other than the front sway bar.

Also, that #2 and #3 are often associated with the ORs.

    LMAO, TW never fails.

Before I start this, I will say I should have bought an OR, because it's a better bang for the buck. Sports are too much for what they offer.
That being said, I really enjoy my 17 MT DC sport.

So we have someone that feels the sport is better than their OR, and I agree they just drove a broken truck for 80 miles and that will have some effect. But any how, the OR crowd comes out in full force to tell the OP that he is wrong. There is no difference in the 2 models. its just shocks. The chin strap is the only reason the MPGs are different, Oh no the chin strap doesn't do anything. BAHHHHHHAAAAAAHHHAAAAHAAHHHHHAAHHHA.

Give me a stock MT sport and I will and it will out corner a stock off road, it will handle the road better. You know why, cause it was designed to do just that. Now off roading, ya the OR should handle bumps better, be able to get unstuck easier. You know why, cause it was designed to do that.

But in the TW spirit OP, you must have been using crack, everyone knows the sport is shit and the OR is the cats ass. On a serious note, its nice to hear about a dealership fixing the problem and not informing you of the bullshit, "it's a characteristic of the truck."

Like I said. To each his own. OP asked for our opinions on getting a 4runner, and that's my opinion based on an OBSERVATION...

Good news is that you are ticking the clock for a lemon law claim. Sounds like you have some buyers remorse. Maybe the back ordered part will result in a buy back.

They were framing it as though the Sport is a better truck than the OR.
