Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
Nope serious as a heart attack.
    Yup 700R4.
Going to price out both and go with what feels right.
Nope. Just parked it in the garage and I'm not even looking at the truck this week. Need to step away from it and formulate a full build. Thought I was starting with a more solid base than I actually had when I went off adding cool stuff so she is going up on stands, dropping drivetrain and axles and going to town. I'm not in a rush anymore as I bought a daily/move Burrito parts around truck so I no longer need to drive the burrito to work on crappy days and whatnot. Which is cool because that opens up the door to other stuff like bigger tires and not giving fucks about road driving more or less. We shall see though. Again taking and week off from the cruiser. I'll sit down next week and get my thoughts down on paper.

    Here's the new pickumup truck.

Went out shooting, fishing and ran a local adopted trail as well as clean up.

I picked my rig up this evening from the paint shop and my buddy even installed my ARB for me. He painted the hood and blended everything in so it wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb. He even painted my pinkish colored side mirrors and clear coated my front flares that were starting to peel. $400 for everything, couldn't be more happy with it.

I'm thinking about re-gearing my 80 to 4.88 after I install my lift and put 35" tires on. I've heard a lot of people on MUD say they stayed with stock 4.11 and it was fine but I live in east TN and it's all hills and mountains. I'm sure if you live in the flat lands, it wouldn't be as big a deal but I'm thinking the tranny will be down-shifting all the time. Is anyone running 35's in an area like I live in and how does yours do? Also if anyone has re-geared, did you do it yourself and any idea what it costs? I've heard anywhere between $1000 to $2000. If it's in the $2000 range, I may seriously consider going with 33" tires and see if that works. I've seen a couple Cruisers with the TRD wheels like I have and I'm not sure it will look as good with 33's.

Nice looking LX! What size tires are you running? Any lift? Looks like 33's or 35's on stock height suspension.

295/75/16 Hankooks. No lift yet other than a spacer in front to level the rig out. A lift is on the mod list before next April but gets the job done as it sits currently.

I'm waiting on my lift also, it takes a lot of money to lift a LC. I wished you could do it for the same money as it takes to lift a Taco or 4Runner. How hard is it to put the spacer in? Do you mind telling me what spacer you used? I wonder if you can also put spacers on the rear? The 295's really fill the wheel wells out nice.

It was a set of Man-A-Fre spacers. You can get some for the rears as well. Easy install, I had use of lift which helped. I just unbolted the shocks from the bottom mounts and used a tranny jack to articulate the axle to slide the springs out. Be careful of the brake lines. Once springs are out, put spacer on and slide springs back on. Was a pain going back on but with some force and a pry bar it worked.

It's cheap if you stay at or under 3" of lift... springs, shocks and a set of caste plates.

I don't want to go over 2.5" but with an OME kit I'm still looking at close to $1000 for everything. My buddy is getting ready to lift his Taco and I think it's like $350 for everything.

Did about 1000 miles in the desert over the weekend and found some great campsites. And got stuck while we were at it. :)
