Here's a couple more my buddy worked up for my 80. These would be about the same size as the TRD decals that go on the back of the Tacos. I think I like the top one best.

I can surely understand why someone would want to get a cheaper winch if they think it will rarely get used. Everyone's budget is different too. Like I said before, to me it's more about reliability than it is about cost. The problem with a cheap winch could be that you don't use it for several years and in that time moisture finds its way into the contacts or solenoid housing or even into the gearbox without you knowing. Then you find yourself in a situation where you finally need to use the winch and it doesn't work when you need it to.

If you can find a cheaper winch that you are confident in and feel like it will be reliable, then that could work. All I can say is that I have been very happy with my ComeUp and have total trust in it.

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
My XRC10 surpassed every expectation I had for it when I was down in that canyon in Moab. It flipped the truck upright, was under constant load an usage for hours and got me up the hill and is now on another person's truck being used I'm sure. Out of the box it's a slow winch but it works as long as you take the time to open it up and clean out the shit grease and use real grease plus an RTV reseal on the solenoid. But for the price savings compared to others it's an additional 20 bucks and time.

I know a lot of folks have had issues with the XRC series but mine always worked and never did I not feel confident in it being able to do what I needed it to do.

Yeah it did. It earned my trust before that Everytime I used it which wasn't a whole lot. That being said I have been eyeing Warn and Comeup as the winch for the Burrito but another XRC isn't off the table for me.

Thanks for the feedback on the winch. As little as I will need one, I'm thinking serious about the Smittybilt.

Different subject, if anyone is needing a new set of tires, check out the deal ebay and Discount Tires has going. You get $100 off every $400 order. I had to buy 2 tires at a time but I wound up getting 4 General Grabber AT2 in 315/75/16 for $672 and free shipping. I've been shopping for a month now and that is by far the best deal I could find.

They're mounted up and waiting on the lift. The old 265/75/16's look a lot smaller now

done a few small things recently. New rear rotors, pads, parking brake, tightened wheel bearings, replaced a broken door check on my 80. Then went out with the rest of the Canguro Racing team yesterday for some suspension testing/tuning before leaving for Baja next week. Unforunately I can't claim ownership of this cruiser. :)

A couple small tweaks were made last night. I've been thinking about changing how my spare tire is mounted for a while. When I originally built the swing out I had the spare mounted straight up and down. It's been fine but I wanted to tuck it in a bit tighter and possibly angle it to match the rear window. Also my hilift has been mounted on an angle behind the spare. That wasn't going to work with the changed spare so it got moved to a vertical position next to the tire. So I finally made those changes last night.

    IMG_3872_zpsoxddd88v_88cdc32bac9485833b0f48a024e0d7c7c9edb0ab.jpg

Lastly, I swapped out my non-locking swingout latch for a locking one.

I know this isn't a for sale location but since it's mostly 80 owners here. I ordered the Marlin Crawler low range gearset and I'm not going to be using it now. I was going to send it back but they are trying to whack me with a 20% restocking fee.

I paid $720 for it first week of September. Toss me something decent as an offer and it can be yours with shipping on my dime.
