Long travel is possible. One thing to consider though is you'll have to probably bump it more than you want to keep the tires out of the fenders since there are no glass fender options. Of course you can always cut them.

The bigger issue is that you're working with a torsion bar setup not a coilover setup so it's going to take some work to get that converted to coilovers with lower a-arms. But it could be done and would be sweet. Total Chaos arms are available for those trucks and I think they are probably the best option, and will help front travel.

i thought the whole torsion bar set up comes out with the ACH... thats why people do it... interesting.. thanks... learn something new... and yes.. that would be a bad ass set up.... wonder if the Tundra stuff would work..

Nope, torsions all stay put, people just upgrade them from the stock ones to something like OME T-bars.

The AHC stuff is just the compressors and the airbags etc that control the height.

Pretty sure the Tundra diff is smaller than the one in the Cruiser (I could be wrong) so the CVs won't swap over. A-arms are also different so you'd probably need to custom fab a lower frame section to run new lower a-arms. that is the primary thing you'd have to tackle to do a long travel conversion. But if you do that, then yes you could probably build it to use Tundra long travel parts, but the CV shafts should still be an issue unless the diff is the same.

and can you turn the compressor for the air ride into on for lockers or adding a tank? or the fluids for the other system for something else?

If I were building a 100/LX470 it would be very close to how my friend Dave built his. He is one of the drivers for Canguro Racing (the desert race team I chase for) and he likes to go fast even when he's not racing so his cruiser was set up to do it as well as it can without SERIOUS mods. OME t-bars, OME Competition coils in the rear, TC upper control arms. He ran Radflo shocks for a while but hated them and actually settled back with OME shocks after trying lots of different setups. The OMEs actually contolled the truck better than anything else he tried even after a lot of tuning with the Radflos.

This truck is one of the chase trucks we use for the races and I've got quite a bit of seat time in it. It works really well in moderate/high speed stuff and is a great overlander. He just sold this truck last week and is driving home from Georgia today in a 2013 200 series that is gonna get "the treatment"

A 200 series is one you could do a real long travel setup with since it's all coilovers. That's what we race too (since we're all cruiser guys). Took second in class with this one at last years Baja 1000.

Took second (Barely I might add) behind the Toyota Factory team in the TRD Pro Tundra.

I know they can come off on the LX450, and I would assume they can on the LX470 as well, but there will probably be holes in the body that would need to be filled and repainted. IMO, its not worth the hassle.

I suppose I should add something that I've been working on recently. I'm working crazy hours at work right now and I'm lucky to be home before midnight so its been hard to find time to get anything done. However I'm in the process of getting my new winch set up. I've got a COMEUP Gen2 SEAL 9.5s
    IMG_2811_zpsmvl2mory_e6b60bc07fd24ec22930aaf62536990d4782d592.jpg

The ARB bumper on my cruiser has been modified. It was all done by the previous owner who cut off all the winch mounting brackets and lower skirt. He never planned to run a winch and wanted a cleaner look. I actually like how he did it.
    IMG_6769_zps972c0a8e_7a6563c33fef63422adcea10f757865080dd18d7.jpg

Normally on an ARB bumper you have to mount the winch with the feet forward. But since all that stuff was cut off, it allowed me to mount it however I wanted. There's loads of space behind the bumper and between the frame rails. So I picked up a Badlands winch cradle that I can weld to the bumper between the frame rails.

This allows me to mount the winch with the feet down (which is preferred) so I don't have to clock the winch motor. The COMEUP comes with a massive hook for the winch rope, but I won't be using it since I picked up a Factor 55 ProLink.
    Factor55_zpsqgsysxmc_aa19823677a779089a95436379c3102f908690e8.jpg

I'm hoping to have this all finished up this week as I try to get ready for Cruise Moab at the end of the month. Once the winch is done, I will be tearing the front axle apart to replace bearings and seals. Gotta figure out how to make time for that too before the trip.

I have no doubt the winch is going to hold up great. I think Warn is the only brand that compares to the COMEUP. They're a pretty new company so not a lot of people know about them yet but they are pretty impressive. I talked to the President/CEO from COMEUP in Moab last week. The guy is doing it right. There's no cutting corners and he's committed to making the best winch on the market.
