The place here locally that I got mine had sets to fit 37's. Guess that's what you get for living in Canada.

Got a couple pics of the bumper today, I'm really happy with it. Swapping the swing put struts for some spring pins next week but other than that, should be good to go.

I replaced my exhaust yesterday. I had a leak at the Y-pipe and at the flanges for the cats. There were several broken hangers and both stock cats were bad and clogged up so it gave me plenty of reason to just redo the whole thing. I ended up using dual Magnaflow high-flow cats in the stock location but rotated and tucked up above the frame for better clearance. Also used a Magnaflow muffler and ditched the resonator at the tailpipe. All tubing is 2.5".

As for the routing it's more or less the same as stock but tucked up as best we could. This means it still passes under the frame behind the cats which isn't ideal but not something I'm worried about.

As for sound, it's louder than stock but not overly obnoxious. Definitely a more "throaty" tone through the entire range. It's very quiet at idle and while it's clearly audible at cruising speeds inside the truck it doesn't drone. Throttle response seems to be slightly better with my "seat-o-the-pants" analysis. Haven't had a chance to see if there is any mpg change yet.

Overall, pleased with the result and definitely a improvement of clearance at the cats which was my main complaint with the stock system.

Sorry for the crappy phone photos. Yes, I know I have a rear axle seal that's bad (fixing it tonight). Also you'll hear my starter clicking at the beginning of the video. It's also getting replaced (since I know someone will bring it up).

Well my turn for a massive failure. I had a leaking rear axle seal. No big deal right? Well after pulling the axle to change the seal I find that the inner axle bearing has clearly been totally dry for a LONG time (likely since before I bought the truck last year). The roller side of the bearing is obliterated, as in totally pulverized and gone. The race is still there but mangled. The bearing chewed up the hub and the axle shaft, damaged the ABS sensor. On top of that the heat basically welded the bearing race to the axle housing. There is no way to remove the race without causing damage to the axle housing bearing surface. That means new bearings won't fit correctly and I'll just keep destroying bearings. Gah!

So......I've located a donor axle (complete end to end) that is getting rebuilt (bearings and seals) and swapped in.

    Good times.

I hear ya, it's not a new experience. With my old FJ40, by the time I sold it the only (literally) thing that was original and wasn't rebuilt or replaced was the fiberglass cap of the hardtop. The older trucks are awesome but there is occasionally the price to be paid with the age.

Got out to some sand dunes about 3 hours away for a bit of fun last weekend. Still more snow out there than I expected, but my son (15) got a bit of seat time.
