How do you like the frontier compared to the Tacoma?

The Frontier was a great truck. I mean it had 300K miles on it when it got rid of it. And that’s most of its life with 6” lift and 33s. I had always had Toyota trucks before this and the new Frontiers are boring and seem to be cheaply made. The Tacoma is much nicer in my opinion.

My kids called it "Laramie Clarkson"

    2016 Ram 3500 HO

Was very similar to the Tacoma in that it needed gears and the throttle control was F$%^ing horrible but it hid the gearing and throttle control with 900 lbs/ft of torque.

Reliability. After about 90k miles it was $1500-2000 in unexpected repair bills every three or four months. Fuel emission problems, fuel pumps (2 in 6mo), fuel injectors leaking, fuel pressure regulator, new brakes every year, cracked driveshaft, uniballs, undiagnosed weird transmission noises, dead seat heaters, steering pump, steering rack seals, etc. I kept thinking back to how reliable my Tacoma’s were, as well as my wife’s highlander...picked it up from the dealer a few weeks ago, paid $1835 in repairs, and immediately traded it in. Amazing truck. Kept it for 112k miles. I beat the snot out of it, but that it what they are made for, right? Now it’s someone else’s problem. Although, I still cry a bit at night over letting her go.

Liked them all. The 2012 was the best. They talk shit about the 3.6L but it is way better than the 3.8. I installed an EVO Enforcer lift, sleeved and gusseted the front axle, and ran 37” Toyo Open Country MT’s. It went anywhere I pointed it. I just don’t wheel like I used to, and needed a truck. Always liked Taco’s, so made the switch.
