I tried to get the TDA removed from the invoice and one dealer said they will not DO business with me as they claimed that the TDA is not their doing but is a Toyota factory issue. I even tried to get the Dealerholdback removed and they said they will NEVER let that one go even if they have to close the dealership. So at this point, I am somewhat torn between the "Expert's recommendations" and Dealership's refusal. Meanwhile I am Tacoma-less,

    Wah ! wah ! wah! :(

None currently, but I would like a better sounding exhaust and perhaps a cold air pack and some color coded step bars
That TDA, holdback and Whsl Res is really weird, so I checked my invoice on my 06 SR5, that was made in Apr of 06 and that I bought in late Oct of 06. It has the same thing and I am disapointed that I did not ask, no doubt "new truck fever" had taken over. As I was very happy to get rid of my trade in and get home with the new truck.
I really had a tough time finding a 6spd trk with the options I wanted.

Are you saying that you "PAID" the TDA, Holdbacks, Wholesale Fin. Res. as shown on the invoice?

The TDA amount varied by $50 or so betwen the Delaware and Pennsylvania. So what gives in the "TDA" deal?

Let me ask bluntly here, WHO DID NOT PAY "TDA" when they purchased INVOICE price??

Why are TDA, Holdbacks, and Whsl. Fin. Res. amount shown as blank? Did your dealer erase these? These are printed in all legit' Toyota Invoices?

I didn't even realize that they were blank. The price on there is without them and the detail was sent before the dealer I bought from had the vehicle. I really didn't care what prices they were putting on there in what order. We had already negotiated a price, I just wanted the spec sheet before putting a deposit (all done over the phone) so I could make sure it had everything I discussed. I'm thinking it would've been closer to $33K invoice with Dealer holdback and Whsl. Financial Reserve included.
Like I said, I had 3 other quotes and knew what I was willing to pay so it wasn't my main concern.

In all honesty I wasn't even going to buy a tacoma, took it for a test drive, thought it was alright, figured I'd sit down with them see the numbers, when they said that number I was sold.

I got it at a local dealership in Phoenix,AZ. Again keep this in mind this was an 06 and they were concerned about finding room for the 08s so they defiantly wanted the thing out.

Its great that you were there to take advantage of them! I am sure they were told to get it off the lot as they would prefer not to have a 06 on the lot with just a few miles on it, as they could not even pass it off as used.
    What a deal !

$27,800 in February on the road (taxes in). Tacoma has an automatic V6 4x4 double cab short bed Tacoma with the TRD Off-Road Package, the Tow Prep Package, the 6 disc in-dash cd player, and the carpet floor mats.

After reading numerous posts it occured to me that in keeping with perspective I should inform all of you that I was raised in a house that cost 11,500 to buy. Now we pay much more than 200,000 for a home and 20,000 for a vehicle.

The fact that I paid 13,600 for a vehicle that depreciates rapidly kind of makes me sick to my stomach.

As a society, we rape ourselves and allow others to rape us and then justify/rationalize it as a "good deal" so that our psyche can live with itself.

How truly ignorant we are, including myself.

    Privileges are definitely expensive.

Sorry. Not trying to get everyone depressed and I'm not trying to hijack this topic with politics. Just thinking out loud here. :frusty:

See the quote below from the dealer. This is what I am about to pay for 2007 Tacoma Access Cab, v-6 automatic, 4x4, TRD Sport Pkg #1, Towing pkg, 6-CD changer strereo.

"Dealer: I spoke with the General Manager, Frank. He said we can drop the holdback on this truck, then minus the $1,000 rebate. So, the MSRP is $29,508, the invoice is $26,950, minus the $477 holdback = $26,473, minus the 1K rebate = $25,473, plus tax and tags."

    What do you think?:)

Tsunami*22, I would not think that Taco's depreciate quickly, perhaps if you go to a dealer and try to trade in. However , in New England Taco's prices are at a premium for a good or excellent , well cared for truck. This is evident by the high prices at at the dealers.
In reality all vehicles loose "right out of the showroom" this is set by the dealers and the industry.
