my grandpa recently passed away, and had a 96 Cobra that he was daily driving and taking to the strip till only a few months before he passed (started to get very sick). Imagine an 80 year old dude with severe arthritis motoring down the strip lol.

My mom and her siblings are trying to work out what to do with it. My mom wants to buy it off her siblings and keep it in the family If she doesn't I'm tempted to scrap together the cash to do so. I'm not a Ford guy at all, but it's slightly sentimental and hell...its a COBRA!

Hell ya man. I would snatch it up if i were you. They aren't very expensive. Totally worth not only the sentimental value but its a solid car for the money!

Damn, you'd think to keep it in the family your mom and aunts/uncles would just gift you the car. Whats $6-9k (not sure of condition of the car/miles/etc.) split among multiple people really??

Oh it will almost 100% stay in the family, even if I'm not the one taking it. My mom really wants to buy it. I actually just spoke to my mom about it today. They're still considering it. Their family doesn't share so well. It's one of those "buy it out, or don't buy it at all" because it will be a nightmare to share among 5 people, especially because she is across the country and would never see it, unless she buys out the others and takes it back home with her. She basically ownes 20% of it as of right now. They know it needs some work, but unsure what it needs (gramps lived about 3 hours from everyone here in CA). They're waiting to have it checked out and valued. She said if they take it, they will just offset that by giving up other parts of her inheritance to siblings. If she doesn't want it, and no other siblings can scratch together cash to buy out the others, her and I will try to figure something out. She really wants it to stay in the family (very sentimental to her especially, her dad was a big car buff and she used to work on cars with him in the garage growing up).

So what I had before a Tacoma was the precursor to the Tacoma. Maybe it's all I'll ever drive.

Should have never sold them. I had an 80 4x4 long bed, 82 4x4 short bed and an 83 4x4 long bed that became my wheeler. Also had an 85 xcab 4x4 but don't have any pics on my phone. Back when you could buy 1st gens all day long for $500-$1000. I went through 2 civics along the way also.

Should never have sold the 85. Put a lot of work and money into it, and probably won't ever find another one. These are some good trucks. Oh and I owned 86 Civic and a DRZ400 somewhere in there also.
