Just curious what everyone had before they purchased a Pro. I currently have a 18 Raptor that I absolutely had to have. I'm on 2 years with it now and seriously looking at a TRD Pro. My wife thinks I'm crazy. Less power, rear drum brakes, less amenities, etc. But I can't stop looking at them.

Four years from now which one would I rather have? Not really sure. So, I think it would be interesting he hear what you came from. Are you still happy with your decision?

if you’re interested in the stick, the Tacoma’s a no brainer. Otherwise be sure to test drive a bunch before you walk away from that Raptor

We cannot help you. You need to figure out your own justification. One piece of advice: Test drive, test drive, test drive.

I'd probably keep that raptor if I was in your shoes. I drove an 02 accord with 200k on it before the taco.

    this and that...
four years on? then you start to look at brand more than the vehicle itself.

I was waiting on that comment. Of course you can't help me but looking to see what others experiences have been. And are you still happy with your Pro. Thanks!

I also came from a 2018 Ford Raptor 802a truck. Granted I had a ton of issues with mine (cam phasers, trans issues & rattling pano roof to only name a few) and it left me stranded twice. Once I lost confidence in the truck I had to get rid of it... Granted the TRD pro tacoma is not as comfortable but I do not regret my decision to make the switch... and FYI who ever says the TRD Pro Tacoma is a mini Raptor is misinformed, they do not ride anything alike.

2013 Tacoma TRD Sport for almost 6 years before I got my 2020 Pro. I liked my 13, but I love my 20 so much more.

    BUT
I would not compare a Pro to a Raptor. I wouldn't compare a Tacoma to an F150. Apples to oranges.

I'm a midsize truck guy, I've always owned midsize trucks. I have no need or desire for a fullsize. Also, my primary motivating factor for buying a Tacoma is the higher rates of reliability. I had 107,000 trouble-free miles on that 13 Sport. I've never had any domestic match that.

1999 Ford ranger. 176K miles with no major issues. In fact, it is still going strong due to the fact it has never seen a winter here in Ohio. We would drive our winter beater F250 for that.

Had the choice of anything out there, chose the taco because of looks, rep and couldn't pass up the deal the dealer was offering.
A friend has a raptor, that is a truck, the taco is a mid size truck...I get the ride feeling thing between the two though.

I seem to be liking my Pro more every day I have it, so no regrets here.
I actually sold three vehicles when I got it 1 1/2 yrs ago! At the time, I had an older model F150 4x4, a Mercedes AMG C63 and a Kawasaki C14 touring motorcycle.
    They were all good vehicles.
Needless to say my insurance is a lot cheaper now!

    Damn. That’s a lot of issues for a 2018.

    Like, so many.
There was a thread on here not long from a guy who switched from a Raptor to Tacoma. If I remember correctly, money was a non-issue for him, but he really liked the Tacoma community and aftermarket support for the Taco. He didn’t regret his decision. I bet you could find it in the search. Lots of folks chimes in on that one.

I went from a 2004 Tacoma Extra-cab Off Road Sr5 to my 2020 Pro. I loved my 2004 but needed the back seats now that this is my daily driver.

    Man I love the FJs.
I hope Toyota can do what ford did with the bronco and bring back the FJ in refined form in the future. Such a great vehicle such a shame it gained a following and big popularity only after it was discontinued.

    Yeah.
    I had a 2012 TRD Off Road, and before that a 2009 2WD double-cab Tacoma. Before that a 2006 Tundra, before that a 2004 Tacoma, before that a 1992 base model pickup.
