Bought this '03 regular cab last year, with 105k miles. Paid $6,250 BUT, have had to replace the engine. Plan to keep it for a loooooooong time.

Now it has 280k and an All Pro front bumper, 4X sliders, bed rack from Turbodb, and 33x12.5 Falken Wildpeaks

$11,500 (plus tax and a fee of course)

    Bought this week

One owner. Lived its life in Vegas. 132k miles. 4wd. Interior is absolutely perfect. Outside has normal scratches, dings, and whatnot. Can’t find any evidence underneath that it’s been off road. My 2001 prerunner is beat to heck underneath from my younger years of jumping it in the desert.

I’ve owned my prerunner since 2004. I love the truck so much I’ll never be able to part with it. My one and only regret, and it’s a huge one, is that I didn’t spring for the 4wd. I love being outdoors, and while the clearance has helped me get places, I have also been stuck many times, and more times turned around out of fear of getting stuck.

Those dings and scratches are possibly battle scars, if it was ever taken off road. I don't think mine ever saw more than a dirt road before I purchased it. And I don't have to freak out getting a small scratch or ding on her. Somebody else already did it for me, and I get to just enjoy the Truck. North Carolina seems to have been in a Monsoon season here lately. I can't wait for a week of sunshine and 65 degree weather.

Could be. Looked to me more like too much time spent in parking lots parked too close to other cars. I was all lined up this week to buy a new 2019 trd off road. Just couldn’t do it. All the electronic gee wiz stuff made me nervous. Beautiful truck, but didn’t seem like the same type of truck as my 2001 and 1995. I may be crazy though.

a little off topic, but I remember looking at a ford f150 4x4 back in the early 80's that had a straight 6, auto transmission, all vinyl upholstery. It was a truck plain and simple. no air, no cruise, just a working truck. I really like my 2003 Tacoma, but these newer trucks have so many electronic amenities, which only increase the cost of repairs. I'd rather see Toyota build a reliable working mans truck, and let Cadillac build the ride's like a car truck for those who are looking for that type of vehicle.

Bought my 2003 4x4 new in September of that year for $12,750
(Toyota Motors offered a $5k rebate to get the truck off the dealer lot...)
I have her garaged with 195k miles.

$7000 on December 2016. It had 145,000 miles.
This truck had high rpm problems and after spending around 200 on a idle control valve it fixed the problem.

California owned, no rust. A little scratched up, bed dented, but makes me feel better about running it down brushy forest roads. Very clean inside.
Bought at a dealer, they bought me two CV axles (installed myself), filled it up with gas and found the gas tank leaked. Took it back to their mechanic and they replaced the gas tank for free. Got it back and the gas gauge wasn't working. Took it back, and now have a working gas gauge..
This is why I don't take my cars to a mechanic, but it was free.
    Still needs suspension work.

I paid 8500 for my 98 with 130k on it in December. The exterior isn't perfect but the interior is really nice and no rust!

Pretty happy with the purchase prices. Fair market value for my area. Each rig has a couple grand in accessories, suspensions, wheels/tires, etc after acquisition.

I saw a ‘99 4 Runner with 86k miles for $8200, body is stock and clean, interior very clean. Automatic though and I already have a 2019 Auto DCLB. If it were a 5 sp I might jump
