Typically you need to have at least 800 credit to qualify for any manufacturer's stated incentives. They use them to get people in the door, but most won't qualify for them. The pandemic 0% interest rate that ran through the end of May was different. I heard the requirement to qualify was around 640, Toyota wanted to move vehicles so they were basically approving everyone for the 0% interest. I don't have bad credit, but it definitely isn't 800 and I put $0 down for the 0% interest. My salesperson even told me not to put any money down since it's 0%, free money.
I think you got scammed by the dealer coincidentally enough. The down payment you gave the dealer just went in to their pocket and they can put it on the books as revenue.

I hope you meant $500 under invoice. I wouldn't brag about paying $500 below MSRP

On a PRO in Cali, before COVID ... I THINK he did just fine.

$500 below MSRP on any mass produced car is a terrible deal. Especially well optioned/higher trim model vehicles, the more options a vehicle has, the more money a dealer can make off of it. I wonder how many congratulatory comments this would get over in the “What are you paying for 2020 Tacomas?” thread.

So, Kairide how much off MSRP did you buy your PRO for?

I didn’t buy a Pro, personally I wouldn’t spend that much on a truck. Nothing against those who do.

I disagree. If the market is/was seeing dealer markups, $500 back is not a terrible deal. I bought a Gen 2 Raptor at $1k back of MSRP when they were seeing up to $5-$25k markups. Since I drove it for nearly 2 years and sold it for just about what I paid for it, I’m thinking I didn’t get a terrible deal.

I wasn’t bragging I was just answering the question in the title of the thread. At the time in California most were being marked up well over MSRP it actually took a bit of time to find the spec and color I wanted as at the time they were selling as fast as they would get on the lot, I don’t believe I visited a single dealership that had more than one PRO at any given time. I was willing to pay MSRP and was glad to get it down to $500 under. I’m happy with my purchase and at least all the post Covid shoppers and master negotiators were able to get a Laugh and a better deal.

MSRP is probably as good as you will do in So-Cal. That’s as good as I could find and that was rare.

Being in TX and during COVID, you're lucky. Lol one thing that this pandemic is good for is buying houses and cars. I would aim for something around 44-45
Can't speak for a 2020, but my 2019 a little over 46k OTD. Sticker price was 53k. That wasn't going to fly.

There's a shortage of all Tacomas, let alone Pros, previous numbers no longer apply. Check used prices online, they're at, or above, new. Good luck in your search, but now's not the time if you're looking for a steal of a deal.

This is true... Walked around a dealership while truck was getting its maintenance. I did see one Pro, and only a few 2020 SR5's.
Everything else got picked up quick.

Not a pro but i bought a fully loaded 2019 TRD Offroad 4x4.. 40k OTD with taxes and registration.

I like the scoop on the PROs but besides that idk, most people change out what makes it a pro anyways?
