Sir, when we purchased it was the last of the 2015’s. I wanted a 2nd Gen when I heard Toyota was doing a big redesign of the 3rd Gen. Nothing personal and I’m really sorry to say this but I have many friends that purchased 3rd. Gens and many of them sold there 3rd. Gens back to the dealers under the lemon law. I know it’s very hard to believe but many are having issues with transmission, (this partly because Tacoma’s are over geared from the factory, it’s because of emissions and the iron fist of the EPA) rear end leaks and oil leaks from the intake manifold. I thought Toyota would never have issues like these but I guess they aren’t all perfect. Our 15 has only needed a battery, few sets of wiper blades and regular maintenance that I’m very anal about! I feel for buyers in this day and age. Plus if gas prices keep going like this I’m guessing some will want to sell there Tacoma’s to get a Prius.

I paid about $1000 over MSRP for my 2021 Tacoma in September but what aggravated me was the Blackout plus package. $2500 for a bunch of stuff I didn’t need but my dealer told me he didn’t have a single Tacoma allocated to them without the package until after January 2022. I thought he was bullshitting me so I called another dealer in the area and got the same story. In the end I like my truck, happy with it. But I definitely didn’t need the blackout plus package…but it was that or don’t buy a Tacoma until next year and I’d already sold my F150.

paid $44,530. '22 Off-Road. Lunar Rock. Leather, tech and moonroof upgrades.

Approached the dealer on 10/22 asking what they had as they had no Tacos in stock--they had this Off-Road along with a Sport model allocated to them in various states of production and shipping.

I paid a small deposit and then got the keys to the Off-road version on 11/4 the day it was delivered to the dealer. Only waiting a few weeks seems like no big deal compared to what others have said on here.

Heartland Toyota in Bremerton isn't adding a markup at the moment.

$60,780 CAD with freight, and block heater on 2022 Pro automatic. That converts to around $48,000 US at today's exchange. No ETA yet.

    Oh look, another mod....
I have seen this package, and when I priced out all the stuff they offer (I found it all on Amazon or Tacoma Enthusiast websites), it totaled about $300. That included taxes and shipping. Every piece was DIY snap on/clip on.

Dealers tell people "They don't have any allocated without it". Because they ORDERED it that way. They buy it with that, so they can put their mark-up on it. It's their way of saying "Hey man, we didn't charge you over MSRP (or only charged a little bit over)", but they get even more money out of you by putting shit on your truck that you didn't ask for, then marking it up!

They used to do it (and probably still do), with pin striping, vin etching, and my personal favorite... Nitrogen filled tires. All air has nitrogen in it!

Okay, rant over. Everyone can carry on now.

You do have a point, but the package does include 265/70R16 Duratracs and the Predator Steps are also included in the $2500, so in the end I found it wasn’t TOO overpriced. Just all stuff I didn’t want…and this is not a buyers market, they weren’t gonna beg me to buy the truck.

You may be thinking of the $400 “blackout package” which is just black badging and the exhaust tip.

Paid 38,200 OTD for my 21 DCLB TRD OR in February. Basic but what I needed, been browsing dealerships during service and GF ordered a Maverick. Dealers are putting Market Adjustment prices after cost of vehicle. Seen a BS Bronco sport for 34K plus market adjustment of +10K so 44K OTD, the more local Toyota dealer had much lower market adjustment prices but still had it.

As things heat up about pricing, added market adjustments just remember the sign on the dealership says . For sale. Not must buy. Only you can determine if you need it or want it.

That's a great price! With sales tax and registration, you must have gotten a couple grand under MSRP.

    List price for my 2021 SR5 V6 4WD was 33k about 6-7 months ago.
Today the same truck, AC in white, at the same dealer is 37k.

Camelback Toyota in Phoenix they have a few 2021's in stock right now as well as some 2022's in stock and a bunch more on the way.

I'm in the market for a 22' tacoma 4x4 and I've talked to a handful of dealerships in socal ventura county and they all are asking for 10k over MSRP. I'll have to start calling dealerships in Phoenix and see if they want my business instead. It's ridiculous in socal right now.

Rural California dealers should have them close to MSRP. Oregon has a few dealerships selling at MSRP also.

Toyota of Ventura has had the highest markup ($10k) of TRD ORs in my shopping radius. I'm not surprised that others have 'met the competition' now.

Just a heads up, one of the Phoenix dealers (Camelback, perhaps) told me they weren't selling to out of state buyers.

I ended up buying in-state--my experience is described across the 2022 Tacoma discussions here. Shopped around a lot, definitely didn't get down to MSRP, but was nowhere near $10k.

I know the market adjustment in our area is around $6,000 for most cars and trucks.

I went to the dealer Friday and they want $5000 over MSRP for a 2022 SR 4x4 V6 and they're not coming off of it, no matter how much we negotiate. This is in TN. I will look out of state if I have too.
