Even though I camp a ton, don’t care for the Bro-Overland look…seems like that demographic loves to see how much shit they can put on the roof. I have all that stuff but like it hidden, plus it is out of the elements, on the outside it just gets covered with dust and mud.

Don’t care for those Smart Caps either, look janky and ill fitting, they are expensive plus you still have to put it together, kinda bullshit, it is IKEA of truck caps… lol!

it’s reinforced…i was referring to the standard leer, are, snugtop. They all leak, and most have awful fitment issues.

and may I ask, what 700 pound object you have mounted?

Nothing. But with the sportsmen package upgrade you can mount anything up to 700 pounds. So, if we got a RTT and both my wife and I slept in the tent with our two dogs, I wouldn’t worry at all.

Jesus these prices! $3350 is only a couple hundred away from All Stainless RSI, RLD canopy’s with 750# dynamic load ratings. It makes zero sense to me.

Ehh, a base 100R would have been $2400 including installation. But then I started upgrading and adding extras, adds up fast.

People can spend their money however they want…some will blow $40-50K on a Tacoma, when they could of bought a full-size with a V8. Buddy of mine can’t believe I almost spent as much as his F350…

Sure those RSI caps are probably better, still look janky to me. Rather have the clean lines of ‘glass. Not going to put anything up there anyway, much rather use a trailer.

My Leer 100XR has never leaked and fits perfectly. What are you talking about man?

Mine was about $2800 - Leer 100XR with carpeted headliner, folding front window, rack channels, and dual windoors. Bought it brand new in 2019, right after I got my truck.

Leer 100R from CL $1k NW Oregon. The fellow bought it new and thought it was gelcoat, it’s Super White which matched my SR5, haven’t mounted it to the OR yet - that’s SW too. It has the Thule rails, and a few other options, came w 2 keys, all wiring and hardware, he was 336A8719-46CE-410F-B1FD-37C2AACE797D.jpg
asking 1500, offered 1K cash and he was cool w that, as he’d been offered $500 when he traded in his Admiral Blue truck. It’s a year or so old and like new. Receipt shows just under 3k w install after military discount. It was 15 miles from me.

Poor install or cheap seals is usually the cause. Use this double bulb and it won’t leak.

It really isn’t the shell that is the issue, it is the plastic textured bed rail of the Tacoma, it is a pain in the ass to get a good seal. If it was smooth it would be easier.
