Also they forgot to mention I would be refunded $2200 for the cores so it's much more reasonable now!

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
I think I paid about $40 for my 20,000 mile used 4.88 Nitto gears and did the install myself. A fellow Tacoma owner was with us at Marblehead on Drummond Island, MI when he broke the driver knuckle. My son stayed to help him get it prepped and to a safe spot to work while I drove off the island, down from the UP, to the nearest shop that had the parts we needed in Cheboygan, then shuttled them back and got him on the road. He was so grateful that he brought the old gears from his rig as a thank you.

I just got a quote for $5700 here in Portland, OR. 5.29 nitro gears with front E-locker.

Needless to say, I'm going to call a few more places :)

Does that include labor? Just arts or full cores? Are you returning cores if so?

got prices from 4k - 2k. An offroad shop was the most affordable with gear purchase 2,200 out the door 4.88 front and rear.

Toyota only Mechanic shop quoted me 4 days and 4k dollars. Didnt seem like they wanted to do the job.

If you are in NC you can't beat having ECGS do it at their shop. Same here quoted I could drop it off and pick it up on the same day. $3,100 (no front locker - keep the rear locker) 5 year warranty parts and labor.

Regearing 3rds is super easy. I think it took me 6 hours to include drilling and tapping the ARB. So as someone who isn’t as efficient as a Pro I can’t see how this is more than $1500 for labor for both diffs but people can charge whatever they want.

Gearing a Dana axle is much more PITA.

    $1600 gears and install kits
    $1600 locker
    $1600 labor

    So $4800 maybe seems reasonable

Labor included. They do the master kit install (or whatever it is called), not a clamshell / member swap.

I was quoted 3300 from agility off-road in SLC area, saving for it now.

Haven't gotten it done yet, but was quoted $3300 out the door for 4.88 at a very reputable shop in Colorado.

Damn. I'm so jealous of these low prices.
