Dealer hold back, sales spiffs, incentives, interest point bumping, marking up maintance and warranties are all extremely profit oriented. Always ask the finance manager to sell warranty or maintenance 100$ over his cost that way you both benefit

I reccomend autonation toyota in cerritos for giving OTD over the phone and internet before even coming in the dealer and the finance for open honest on costs . Never ever had a dealer put themselves out there. I played the game so hard the sales manager was shaking as they handed the keys to my trade in back to me so I could attempt to leave over 400$ difference

So many of the markup prices are crazy to me. East Coast I looked all over North and South Carolina and don’t recall seeing a Pro with markup. If they all had 10k in markup I would fly across the country and drive it back or just have the thing shipped to me.

I did my sale through the Costco auto buying program. Paid $47,408 then put $7500 down which put my taxes and everything to just under $3,000.

I bought my Pro in 2019 when the 2020's were about to come out and was able to buy for a really good price, $52500CAD (around $39500USD at the time of conversion). I live in a small city with 1 toyota dealership. They were not able to sell the Pro's so they decided to take a hit when selling one to me at the end of the year.

I bought a 2018, paid $43,500 before tax and license. The reason I bought a PRO over OR, the PRO was ready from the factory with a warranty. I do not have the tools or the mechanical ability to replace suspension and other parts on my own. Shop fees would have made it very expensive to upgrade plus I live in a rural area. Closest 4 wheel drive shop is Grants Pass, Oregon, 85 miles away. I have had my truck over 2 years. I have been to California, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada in it.

Paid $46,500 plus sales tax for my 2020 AG Pro just over a week ago. Financed right at $43,500 after my $6,500 dp. Ordered it January 2nd, pick it up February 27th.

Paid $47,914 plus tax, etc right about $52,200.

Dealers haven’t been wanting to negotiate up here in the PNW and the Pros have been selling as soon as they hit the lots. Well I found this one south of me and it was available so I made the quick drive. Ended up saving about $2k in tax and licensing so I was okay paying msrp

I bought a leftover 19 for 41k and some change. Love it. So far, no less than 12 people have asked "why did you buy a pro then level it and put wheels on it"?? My standard answer is "I bought a Pro for the red stitching in the pleather seats" :frusty::frusty::frusty:

Aren’t taxes and license fees based on where you live and you end up getting charged the correct amount when you register the vehicle? For example if you buy in a different state/area with a lower tax rate, won’t you get charged the difference when you go to the license branch in your home state to get your plate/registration.

Thought the pros were real leather? I know the 4Runner Pros mention the Softex, but the Tacomas just say leather?

I bought a leftover '18 Pro because the fully loaded '19 OR I was looking at was only about 1.5k cheaper :p

That is correct when buying out of state, which is why everyone doesn't go to Oregon (around here) to buy cars. I bought it in the same state though, just a different county.

Curious if that works. My understanding is that the county you live in will determine final taxes due when you register your car at the license branch. I’m no expert though.

I really don't know if it's real leather or not. It's nice, but it feels more like boat vinyl to me than leather. It's certainly not European vehicle leather. In fact, the leather in my wife's Kia Telluride is much nicer.

If anything changes, I will post it but the dealer would have taken care of that and included it in the numbers from the start. Since they do the paperwork, I will be mailed everything and don't have to pick anything up. If anything, I would be charged next year when I renew my tabs? I did purchase a BMW E36 down in Oregon and had to pay sales tax for my county when I registered but there must be a loophole buying in-state?

The cash price of my 2020 AG Pro was $47,263. After the various taxes and fees brought to you by the Commonwealth of PA like the 6% sales tax, tire tax, etc., my total came to $50,727. The dealer put on Predator Steps, the Power Tailgate Lock, Bed Lighting Kit, Door Sill Protectors, Mudguards, Bed Mat and Black Tailgate Inserts at no cost to me so I saved about $1500 in those accessories.

Hello guys, new to the forum here. I just picked up a 2019 TRD Pro 6MT ($44,952 MSRP) left over from last year. I got it at 38,500 + TTL and DOC Fees which came about 42,500 OTD. I kind of regret not waiting a few more weeks as I think dealers would be getting even more motivated to move these I think with all the slowdowns with the Virus?

    What do you guys think?

That’s a sweet $6,452 discount, almost 14.5% off the MSRP.

Will next month be better? Probably, but you did well!
