    I'd have preferred to do the job myself. But my garage is tiny and I don't know anybody local who's equipped and willing to give me their garage for who knows how long. I'd probably have to buy a transmission jack and maybe a couple other oddball tools that I'll use on rare occasion. Then there's the time. Work keeps me pretty busy so I value my down time. I'd have to figure out all the parts and hunt them down. I'd have to learn the procedure so what will take a well-equipped and experienced shop a day would take me a week. Yeah, it's a chunk of coin for labor, but I have to place a value on my time too. The numbers just work in favor of farming this one out...especially since I'm keeping an old vehicle on the road and not dealing with car payments :D
