I’m trying to figure out what differential is in my 06 Base Access Cab 5-Lug RWD.

I’ve searched for it on in the forums and online, but there doesn’t seem to be a definitive answer.

Some sources say 8” and other sources say 8.4”.

Powertrax model #9220803002 references both 8” and 8.4” in their description.

Any help figuring this out would be greatly appreciated.

Tagged. Been asking myself this same question.

I have an ‘05 2.7l 5 lug. Feels sluggish and seems like it’s not geared right, especially when it hits about 50 mph (3rd gear?) when trying to get up to speed on the highway, you can feel it lose power when switching into the next gear. Maybe it needs a smidge lower gearing to give it some pep.

Mpg is not great either as only getting around 22 mpg. My old ‘93 5 lug got 26 mpg consistently. What ever Toyota did really hurt mpg.
