I have a TRD Off Road Prerunner and I used the locker a few weeks ago on the beach (Surfside Beach near Galveston,TX). I got to some areas that were very loose sand and the TRAC light was coming on from time to time as I drove. So I stopped when I got to an area of packed sand and locked the diff. After that I had no problems with traction. The tires (Rugged Trails) would slip a little in the deep sand, but the truck never stopped moving forward. I didn't go over about 10-15 mph with it locked.
