Looking to replace my low end in my single cab. Sealed space for sub can not exceed .75 cubic feet. Power handling can go from 300@4ohms, 600@2ohms, 1100@1ohms. Size can not exceed 10". Price can not exceed 300 shipped. With this being said I have been running a Polk db for a year now and it works but the excursion on it isn that great, its a single VC @ 4 ohms so I am not using the potential of the amp, and I have this recent need to upgrade to something better to finally finish my audio install.

In my Google searches for a solid mix of SPL and DB's I came across SKAR audio. The VVX series seemed to be the go to sub in that price range. Looks like solid construction, a nominal RMS handling, and good numbers across the board. My only questions is should I stick with the dual 4 and run this at its RMS of 600 or can this sub take the 900+ consistent watts my amp can push @ 1 ohm and get the dual 2? Or are there better options.

    Sub in question:

NOTE: If you recommend any mainstream audio people I will nut punch you through the screen.

Great stuff but I like Sundown Audio and a SA 8 hits ridiculously hard...harder than most 10s.

I know you said the sundown 8 doesnt fit your parameters... was that including the SD-2 10"?

Pretty shallow mounting depth, 500w rms, only requires 0.5 air space.. the excursion is decent. I did have to take the plastics off the back of my seat.

The power range, in that it only was wired for 4 and 8ohms

There is a guy in Arizona whos shop is named Bliss Audio, good guys he carries Skarr. Im persononally not a fan of Skarr, DC, or Sundown, just a bunch of cookie cutter audio brands

That's what I'm begining to notice about them. DD as well, all seem to be the same. What do you recommend? I need some deeper/harder bass and want to use the potential of my sub amp.

DD not so much, they design and build their stuff in house. If your looking for a strong deep bass grabbing loud 8, check out the Alpine Type R 8's. Small enclosure for running ported as well. .50cuft. They want about 350w RMS each but will take 600 when properly set up and tuned and not abused.

Rockford also makes an awesome 8 the P2D4-8. Needs .65cuft ported. I'll be running two of these ported behind my seat with 500watts each to them. In the end the choice is yours, I'm not into those cookie cutter brands.

Rockford and alpine are both horrible suggestions that will follow with a nut punch. Look at a few online reviews of DD and its lackluster quality. They might design and assemble in house but I question all the parts being American. And I'm not looking for an 8".

We'll I've used them personally, and with damn near 20 plus years in the industry with sales, install, working for manufacturers and competitions I know for a FACT the quality and performance that Rockford and Alpine and Digital Desgins bring to the car audio arena.

I personally have seen the Rockford and Digital Designs facilities, especially DD to know the build quality control and American made ingenuity. At some point it's going to be the user/installers fault for the performance or lack of performance of the drivers.

well, dB or decibels are the unit of measure for describing SPL or sound pressure level.

so your original statement makes little sense, it essentially says "In my Google search for a solid mix of Money and dollars..."
