every year I swear they smush the front end just a little bit more. pretty soon the headlights are just going to be a thin strip of leds. Still looks better than the new rams though.

I don’t think it looks bad. I wouldn’t buy one, the airbags might deploy if you leave the pavement

Its rare on here for someone to "ask" your opinion. So take the opportunity when you can!

Let's be clear it's not a new truck. Same frame, very similar engine options at launch, and most of the panels are simply adjusted rather than new designs. It's a mid year refresh in everything but name.

It'll be interesting to see how the new I4 turbo engine does considering GM fans trash the Ecoboost like it's the devil.

Personal opinion, the Chevy front end (especially with chrome) is a bit busy but the GMC “twin” is really good looking all around.

I will say that the base trim 18” wheels on both trucks look comically small though, and the ride height for trucks that don’t have the Trail Boss trim (+2” factory lift) is probably too low.

Oh and the interiors are still “classic” (read, terrible) GM.

If I was going full-size, light-duty today I’d pick the new RAM 1500.

I think the Frame is different as they just had a road test on Motorweek and I think they said they shaved 80 pounds out of the frame alone.

Agreed, different frame design if I recall correctly. However, the interior is basically the same, just slight tweaks here and there. MotorTrend was a bit more critical than usual of this truck, knocking it mostly for a half baked interior. It seems clear that Chevy rushed this “all new” yet not really all new truck to the market because sales were not doing as well as they wanted. It also seems clear they were on a budget. I hope they fixed the drivetrain vibration issues because they were rampant in the last gen. TFL Truck also noted that the 19 GMC Sierra AT4 has drivetrain vibration issues as well.

I think the critics are being very critical of the new GM twins because they were expecting some revolutionary rather than evolutionary changes. I mean the Ford refresh arguably brought more changes to the powertrain than GM made on their supposedly brand new truck.

The 2018 Silverado looks better than the 2019 for sure! I didn't like the 2019 much until I bought an rc and diecast Trailboss! If I ever own a real Chevy truck, it's got to be a square body! Now them are some sexy lookin rigs!
