LOL just like xero i take my truck to random places all the time. mini trips, random fire roads, fishing, camping, looking for places to hunt, exploring or just testing out gear. I am a bit of a prepper though so I usually think shtf, zombie, end of the world bs and what gear would be best suited for all the above. Only thing I don't carry in my truck everyday are my firearms this being CA and all but if shtf there's 2 containers and mounts ready in my truck for such events...

Trauma kit and work gloves are constants.

Jumper cables and snatch strap most of the time.

Registration and insurance? Less than I used to. The trauma kit has come in handy a few times. Everything else is whatever.

That's an interesting question. I guess it depends on what one needs and wants. I personally just like having the "just in case" stuff. I travel America's Interstate System often and I have seen some crazy things over the last 30 years. But why spell it out when I can show you pictures......

Tire repair kit. Several other tools, hats, and other gear i like to have on hand depending on the season. But, above all, a tire repair kit.

    Working on it
    Uh. Tools:

Full ARB recovery set, socket/wrench set, impact wrench with impact sockets, screw gun, drill and drill bits, grinder, sawzall, 3lb hammer, misc hand tools like pliers, tire repair kit, a gallon of oil for stupid fucking thermoking units that I get called for on occasion, high lift and bottle jack, tire inflator, torque wrench.

    Survival:

A few MREs, water purification tablets, a few bottles of water. First aid kit which includes quick clot, an israeli, and two types of tourniquet. I used to cut firewood alone back in the woods and figured bleeding out would be a bad idea. A nice heavy wool blanket.
