I have multiple well thought out fully stocked bug-out molle bags that fit in those deep storage slots behind the rear seat. You name it, I probably have it! I am not one of those hard core psycho preppers you read about, but I guess I am close! :)

Ratchet straps, rope, red ribbon for long cargo flagging, hydraulic bottle jack, jumper cables, battery jumper pack, trailer hitch, roll of toilet paper and paper towels, two bottles of water, pocket knife, note pad, tape measure, 1.5-ton chain hoist (use as a come-a-long) and a first aid kit. I also have a magnetic mount for my handgun and keep my holster in the door storage area.

My wife got into a car accident four years ago and the event made me immediately purchase a kit for my truck as well as her car. She made it out perfectly fine but the airbag cut her hand badly and I felt horrible not having the proper items on hand to help her.

I keep what I call "my truck box" in the bed. It's a mixture of camping and general safety stuff.

    Truck Box
    • Pittsburgh metric socket set
    • Ryobi Impact w/ softwall lugnut socket
    • Rope
    • Ratchet straps
    • Bungie cords
    • Bug spray/sunblock
    • Flashlight (OLight 3S)
    • Small boyscout hatchet
    • Weather radio
    • Trauma kit (not a basic first aid kit)
    • Air compressor/tire inflator
    • Mylar blankets (don't get stranded in the Midwest in winter without these)
    • Life straw (2x)
    • Rubber mallet
    • Toilet paper
    • Fire starter
    • A brick of emergency rations (one of those Walmart 24000 calorie things)

There's a few other things in my EDC like OC spray, a Leatherman Rebar, and a handgun, but those are on me, not in the box. Also jumper cables are tucked into one of the underseat compartments.

Gas in the tank, all sorts of tools, recovery gear of all sorts, personal defense items, and shockingly, a lot of common sense.

It seems we aren’t the same type of people. You live in the city with malls and keep you truck on the road. I go off roading, camping, hunting and fishing all the time. I use the stuff in my truck almost daily.

Oh come on. Playing survival truck fort is fun. My load out right now is for zombie survival. Bolt cutters, crowbar, bat wrapped in barb wire, crossbow 86 ways to start a fire. Pretty standard stuff I think.
