If my state allowed it, I would carry a Steyr M9-A1, CZ-82 or Kel-Tec in 9mm for compact comfort and ease. My frame won't support a full size gun without a jacket to cover it. Otherwise I would have a FNP-45 with me.

Ive been trying for months to get my paws on a s&w shield... cant find 1 anywhere. There are 5 different academy sports in my area and they sell out in minutes of the 1 they get every 2 weeks. Gander mountains price seems steep and they sell out fast too. Really want the shield.

I grew up in an east coast liberal family and thusly knew nothing of guns until a couple of years ago. Here is what I have learned about handguns in stages:

    1. Shit! I can't hit a damned thing. Most important thing I learned from my first experiences: If you can put 15 yards between you and an untrained gunman, you are totally safe as long as he is aiming for you.

    2. Tried a bunch of guns and took several classes at a local range. With much practice I became comfortable and proficient with my first pistol: Springfield XD 4" in .40

    3. Got my concealed carry permit after much hassle and shenanigans from the Denver County PD.

    4. Realized there was no practical way for a man who is 5' 7" and 140# to effectively conceal a pistol like my 4" XD. Purchased a Ruger LC9 with crimson trace laser grips.

    5. Shit! I can't hit a damned thing. Unless you are a naturally gifted shooter or willing to spend a tremendous amount of time training, do not buy a pocket pistol. I go shooting at least once a month and it was going to be years before I was proficient with this thing. Plus it is extremely unpleasant to shoot and not really designed to have thousands of rounds put through it

    6. Sold both of the above guns and got my Goldilocks gun: Springfield XDm 3.8" in 9 mm. Fantastic little/big pistol. Comes with a 13 round magazine that makes for a grip that is just big enough for me to get all my (small) fingers around it. Also has a 19 round magazine that makes for a full-size grip. I keep it in the bedside table with the 19 rounder on it and carry it with the 13 rounder.

    7. After just a little practice with this gun I could consistently hit a dinner plate at 15 yards. The gun is a joy to shoot and 9 mm ammo is nice and cheap so I shoot it all the time.

I hope my story is helpful to you. I think the most important thing to realize is that a gun is not a death ray. To be able to use one effectively will take tremendous work on your part. Fun work, but work nonetheless.

To me the shield and CW9 are very similar. I think I'd have been very happy with either. I happened to have gotten the CW9 soley because it was on sale and available. I really like it though. It's ate everything I've fed it straight out of the box, non stop including JHP. Love it.

    I carry a G19 with an X300 weaponlight, with 124 grain +P Gold Dots.

Here in OR the CHL is just that; a concealed handgun license. I know it does not grant the licensee permission to conceal knives/dirks/daggers/nunchucks/etc, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't permit concealing of rifles nor shotguns. Sorry I can't provide a source for that claim, I had a quick look around ORS 166 but didn't find anything right off the bat.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
Ruger SR9C. But, I am about to start open carrying since Kansas passed the law. I think it is safer to do it. Minus the flak I will get from the wife and the occasional cop...

    Same here... kinda.

California's concealment law does not specifically state "handguns", but it does state "Capable of being concealed upon one's person"

In other areas of the code, it indicates that shotguns and rifles are not "capable of being concealed upon one's person", indicating that PC12025 only applies to handguns (and potentially AOW).
The LTC provides an exemption to PC12025, so ANYTHING prohibited by PC12025 would be covered by the LTC.
Likewise, anything not prohibited by PC12025 (or other code sections, PC12020 covers fixed-blade knives) would not need the LTC to be legal.

    So....

With an LTC, there would be absolutely no issue with the concealed carry of any non-prohibited firearm, including handguns, rifles, shotguns, and AOW.

Unless you are a cop, you are not going to be able to get the Dangerous Weapons Permit that would be required to own an SBR or SBS. California provides a legal way to obtain an SBR or SBS, but they won't issue to anyone, even LE. LE may only possess SBR/SBS while employed and may not personally own them.

I just picked up a Caracal C in 9mm with quick acquisition sights. So far ive ran 150 rd of blazer 115gr through with no issues. Ive got to say the felt recoil and ability to get on target quickly is top notch. Most shoots were at 21 feet and accuracy was good although at further distances 50feet it was difficult to pull off consecutive hits. It will be my CCW.

    Edit: Never mind.
I was going to be helpful but if some people have to be dicks, then that's fine with me.

If you had a question, you could have just fucking asked it. More than one person has posted shots of their G26, one just a couple of posts above yours.

I did ask a question  I asked if "Anyone carry A Glock 26?" Your response was "" then went on with why I was asking because I wanted someone to respond with personal experience.... Just trying to make a discussion on here because it's.... An internet forum..... Obviously you are no help to me, you rather be a dick than respond to an legitimate question.... So... Say hello to my block list :)
