I forgot about the long throw shifter and 1st gear being way too low, and 6th should be higher.

Interior doesn't bug me as much as the stuff that should have right from the factory like the shocks, the sound system, and the stock clutch. I have fixed the first two, still need to put an aftermarket clutch in and will get a short-shifter to install when I do the clutch. Agree on the hood scoop; what's the point? It just reflects the sun in my eyes when headed into the sun and does nothing else just cosmetic. These tacos can be made into really good trucks with enough labor and money; wish they were set up right to begin with. They would cost more but have to spend that money making 'em right anyway...

    I hate
    transmission shift pattern
multiple leaks that keep springing up everywhere
    weak rear springs
    rear end thump
    no factory MP3 hook up
    the price
    slick bed
crappy factory rubber floormats that were over priced in the first place
the fact my VVT has already had problems
    the overall quality
    the weak tailgate
    no rear power window
    the computer controlled everything
the fact it is built in the US and not JAPAN
the fact i paid twice the price as a Ford or a Chevy but got the same quality
Its my first Tacoma and probably my last.

I just hate my window rattle. Very annoying. Otherwise, my truck is solid. I guess I am one of the lucky ones.

Love my Tacoma, but Toyota should have better springs, Thicker front struts (I broke both at the thin shaft at different times.) GOT Old Man Emu on there now. It needs less Ticking noise in the engine, heated side mirrors (Mine Iced up all winter.) better quality rear bumper (I could bend the side edges with my bare hand.) and it needs a STRONGER TAILGATE! I'm sure I could pick out some more, but still love this truck.

The steering wheel needs to telescope more. To get my legs stretched right, I feel like my arms to streched out.

I bought my new 2009 PreRunner four months ago. Shortly afterward I began noticing that the transmission "slips" when I slow to below 10 mph and then accelerate. I "Googled" Toyota Tacoma Transmission and there are a lot of other Tacoma owners with the same problem. I have carried my Tacoma to the dealership twice and they say they cannot fix it until Toyota develops a software "patch". Anyone else with these problems?

Yes, I feel it in mine when I slow down to almost a stop. Once I accelerate it has a slight hesitation almost like it is searching for gear after it has down shifted.
