You can get factory leather in the US starting with the 2012's , we've been able to get factory leather with heated seats in Canada since the '08's

No $hit, it is probably the cheapest plexiglas or plastic they could find. Yota's are not made with as high of quality materials as in the 80's and early 1990's. After the relatives lost control of the company, it was all about profits at all costs. Hopefully now that the founders are back in control, hopefully Toyota can regain their reputation as the highest quality auto company out there.

I absolutely can't stand how low the rear view mirror is. I've lost quite a few pedestrians and cars on my right side because of it. Feel like I'm playing peek-a-boo with everyone having to look around it constantly.

    Stickers. Lots of stickers.
Piss poor storage with the back seats. I rode in my uncle's Titan this past weekend and was amazed at how much better it was compared to my truck. And the bed. I like the idea of composite. But it's cracked in 2 places.

Oh, and the usual cloth interior. After 153000 miles, that thing is toast. I'll be searching for something to replace it soon.

New slight complaint..I wish there was no limits on using the 4x4 in some conditions..such as lots of rain on a normal paved road..and forgetting you cant turn too tight or reverse lol

You could go with a super charger but at the cost of lower mpg's and ~$3,000 new, I think, for ~60hp gain.
Save your next empty milk jug I usually cut one in half hold it up there under the filter and pull it off it gets about 90% of the mess.
I do the same with my fathers Boxster. He thinks I don't love it anymore because I don't drive it nearly as much as I used to but I still wash it every weekend or so because of the damned black paint.
    Worth a shot http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/88948-raised-my-rearview-mirror-2-inches.html
Couldn't agree more while the Titan is a bigger truck more comparable to the Tundra than Taco the Fronty still has its fair share of room back there and no hump under the rear seats.

The only real complaint I have about my truck is still the cruise control being to aggressive but that's not really a big deal my biggest dislike about it is that I don't like the way Toyota used a hump of sheet metal under the rear seats even the 2nd gens with their storage compartments under the rear seats. There's nothing under there but space and sheet metal Toyota could have saved some building cost by using a solid piece of metal and leaving space under the seats and maybe having the seats installed on the back wall like Chevy and Ford trucks. I'd mainly like that to put a sub box under but it could be so much more useful for someone who want's to off road and have a place to put their gear but doesn't want to buy a tool box or some storage items and put in the bed.

Looks like we have the same color and probably same model year truck. The shifting seems a bit rough between first and second. Nice to know it isn't just my truck.

I traded in a 12.5 year old Dodge Ram 1500 (POS) and grabbed a 2012 Tacoma. I couldn't be happier. Sure it has a few quirks but nothing beats the engineering and the fact that I now have a VERY reliable truck for the forseeable future! Love TOYOTA!

Ah, well neither I nor my family has ever had a 4x4 so I wasn't sure. I didn't know where was a big difference between AWD and part time 4x4. My dad had worries of fishtailing in heavy rain, altho right now i still drive it like a baby around corners. lol

    Do it.

Every driver needs to know the limits of their vehicle.

Next time it's wet out, find a big open parking lot and gently push it until it breaks loose. Don't just rip her to full lock and punch it... you KNOW that'll do it, but you're looking for the ragged edge, and what it feels like as it's crossing over, and how to safely bring it back without getting out of your lane or spinning out.

Don't know if anyone wrote this yet, but I hate that there is no locks on important parts of the truck (tailgate, glove box, center console, and bed storage compartments).

No change holder, rear window tint is hardly tint, no trip computer like even basic cars have, the top of the steering wheel could be a half inch closer to the driver. It's the angle of the wheel, not the tilt/tele. It sounds like air rushing through driving on wet roads and is generally a bit loud as far as road noise. The XM reception is pathetically weak. A lot of parts of the vehicle just have a cheap/tinny feeling about it.

Except for the XM radio, it's nitpicking but compared to my 2005 Dakota I traded in, these are the things I've noted.

Overall I really like the truck, the way it handles and drives and how it looks. It's also very comfortable.

    2012 DCLB 4X4 Sport, auto.
