This is why I picked up one of those aluminum re-enforcement panels, no tailgate worries for me.

I'd have to say my only real complaint is 6th gear is sub-par. Sure, it's ratio is 0.85 which means it's technically an overdrive gear, but I still feel the highway RPMs are higher than ideal. Going down a little to 0.80 would lower those RPMs nicely and help with the highway mileage.

I have a 2014 Tacoma. There is lumbar support adjustment on the driver's side but not the passenger. Apparently Toyota thinks no one will be riding on that side for any distance - WRONG. The tailgate latch didn't come with a lock. Had to buy that and have it installed along with a mirror that has compass/temp (they don't offer this as an option). I think part of the Toyota Tacoma engineering department is sleeping. That said, I love the truck.

Is that why they deleted the outside temp because of un reliability? I especially don't like black carpet and black console etc in the interior. I really wanted the outside temp......oh well!!! Toyota is all I will ever buy...

I've had mine 6 months now.
Overall, I really like the truck.
MyPet peeves: 4wd switch needs a light- keep turning the heat up at night instead of putting into 4wd! Rear suspension is lame-I bottom out with not too heavy loads. Heated mirrors are a necessity up here in Canada. Stock Dunlop tires lame for anything other than dry asphalt.
Clunks coming out of 4wd to 2wd.
    Little, annoying WTF's.

I have most of the same complaints as you all but IMHO the lack of automatic windows and the damn engine fan noise top the list! These things shouldn't even be an issue as of 10 years ago. The old fashioned seats I preferre because if I ever take a nap I can get back to driving real quick ...just saying.

Would you rather have a computer like BMW has to allow certain functions, ie. lock door funtion, be in our trucks..Might be a slight increase in cost but would you be willing to pay it?

I love my tacoma. Had for about 3 months now. Old truck was 05 nissan frontier. As much as i like the tac it seems to be of lesser quality then my frontier. I have the frontier and my old ford ranger to compare too. The tail gate seems very thin light and flimsy. No lock like the frontier either. The feel of everything doesnt seem as beefy as the ranger or frontier. Still would not trade this truck for anything. Love it but just wanted to see if anyone else thinks this way.
