I definitely understand the oil prices around here! I'm here in Tulsa as well. It might get a little crazy by this years' end.

He would know better than me probably, but i think its generally around 10-15% are structurally "deficient". doesn't mean they're bad enough to close off, just that they need repairs. They don't classify any that are built or repaired within the past 10 years though I don't think. It's not a ton, and you would probably never notice unless you know what to look for.. I do the same thing (for the most part) just with building facades and parking garages - consulting engineering and rehabilitations.

Yeah, I'm stressing it! I quite reading forecasts a while back, none of them are ever right. Just waiting to see what happens. Good news is the forecasts I have read are still saying the worst is just about over, it should start improving soon. But... goes with the territory, it's not like I didn't know what I was getting into.

I totally agree... we chose this field!

I agree though that it's starting to pick back up. I'm on the sales/engineering side of things, so I see it upfront. It's definitely slow, but a steady slow.

I work for a transloading company, loading and unloading trucks and trains... I've been there about 5 months... Small company (we run a 7 man crew) with big ambitions! I operate equipment (wheel loader, zoom boom, forklift) and do a good chunk of paperwork.

My last job I was Manufacturing Foreman at a rig mat manufacturing plant... Pay was less, higher stress, had to manage 35+ people... Can't say I miss that lol

Idk, while i could be content and am happy to be working i dont find working to fill a corporations pockets to be fulfilling, granted you have to start somewhere but i dont feel a sense of pride being a cog in someones machine. I would rather own the machine and give those who would feel pride being a cog a job.

I could never feel accomplished working at walmart unless it was a position where i was able to excercise my strengths and knowledge to further grow business.

Maybe your a pyschologist? Haha im working on it
