Lol I actually liked Abiline when I was there for a few days some four or five years ago. Quiet. But you're right about the farm smell... I can do without that. I'd prefer the aroma of refineries and chemical plants any day.

I don't know when we will make it out that way but I'll definitely hit you up!

...so the water wasn't that sweet, eh? :bananadead:

That was wild. Every time you hear about an industrial accident the Gulf Coast comes to mind, but that explosion unfortunately keeps things in perspective.

Thanks, it's Ingalls shipyard in Pascagoula, a little over an hour drive for me but if I get day shift they have a shuttle so I would only have to drive 20 minutes.

Structural welder, basically we weld together boats, mainly US navy ships and Coast Guard vessels.

Yep, right on the edge of Bay St. Louis and Waveland.

Cool man. That should be a decent job...I'm glad for you. And you're not too far from home but, what I know of Ingalls you'll have a chance to move around if you like. Great score!

Oh yeah, the job will be awesome.
I almost didn't even take the welding program at PRCC but ended up doing 2 semesters and it got me a job.

Now that I think about it, I guess I wouldn't be too surprised if a bunch of us have rode on stuff TW members have touched...kinda cool in that small world way.

Not at all. One of the locals was telling us about how the water actually used to be great, but then the source dried up or something due to the agricultural usage. I assume now they use a wastewater treatment facility. But people were literally getting sick from it, I mean grown ass men puking. We ended up finding that the kitchen at the school had a reverse osmosis water purifier, so we would all fill up our water bottles there. It was a rough 2 weeks.

Damn. How's your back and knees? I started in that industry out of college. My friends that stayed in it were having back and knee issues five years later.

I visited my aunt when I was 14 in FL (near Orlando). The pool temp was around 60-70 degrees, so I went in. My aunt came out screaming that I was going to get hypothermia ahahahahaha. Needless to say, she hates coming back to New England during the fall, nevermind the winter.

Are you a dealer? Does your state require a lisence or certificate if you sell "X" number of cars per year?

Only asking because I've given this thought in the past but the sale limits then driving certain other requirements if the number of sales exceeded the number (where I used to live) were such to make it not so appealing to me. Haven't checked out here yet...
