I'm an accountant. People are often surprised when they find out because they usually have some preconceived notion of accountants that I don't match.

I am the final QC check and last mouse click before many many thousands of your hard paid tax dollars are sent out the door. Also an SME, trainer, and a walking encyclopedia of various federal statutes which govern the issuance of said payments. Also holder of volumes of random facts of history which aid others in their decision making process.

So basically, I am a gov't bureaucrat who is paid pretty well to tell people with far bigger hearts than brains they are doing their job wrong, and how to fix it.

It sometimes sucks and it gets VERY frustrating, but I work in my PJs from home 4 days a week... and I am eligible for full retirement at age 57.

    Just switched jobs.

    I was a water quality/environmental engineer.

Now I’m an engineer in a water/power planning group.

Both jobs are for the same large municipal water/power company in California; just different departments.

Alot guys at my work are leaving or have already left for the water district, metro water. They say cuz they are tired of the rotating shifts and its more $$$.

I'm a Millwright at a steel mill for almost 2 years now. Before I was at Costco part time which sucked, I hate working with the public. I did light fabrication on the side n went to welding school/Jr college.

We haul cement dust out of Dragon Products in Maine. The trailer is a tri axle 1240ci Heil. Pretty interesting job. Sure beats hauling dry van and reefer trailers.
