I work for a company that sells new and fixes water/wastewater pumps and electric motors. 2.5 years in the shop, 4.5 in the office a/c. Don't miss the shop one bit. Seems to have good job security.

    I'm a nurse at a poison center.

Mostly I: talk frantic parents down from a ledge they don't really need to be on.

Sometimes I: Tell people they gotta go to the hospital.

Then I: Help the RNs and MDs at the hospital manage the exposure/poison.

I was an ER nurse for a while before that. Much like the folks who work in wastewater management, I got crapped on a lot. Every now and then I miss the action, but then I remember the Poop.

I have a web design/development business. After 15 soul-sucking years in the banking industry and not getting on the police force, I went back to school and decided to do something fun...and work somewhere I don't need pants.

They're pretty good comfort wise. I'm after a pair of Danner Acadia's but I dunno if we're able to get those through work anymore.
