What's up guys? Just curious to find out what y'all do to get out of depression. For me I'm stressing out pretty bad about grades not where I want them to be, getting into college, friends....you know, just the "initiation" I guess you could call it ,into the real world. Kind of looking for something to get me out of this feeling. I'm sure ive probably got it easy compared to some of y'all but who knows, maybe it'll help someone else going through the same thing or I could use it in life later. Let me know. Thanks.

Doing what you love. Don't feel like you have to do something because your friends want too. Do what you want. I personally go spearfishing every chance I get.

Is there an indoor climbing gym near you? Try it out.

It will wear you out, help you focus, make you physically stronger and give you a sense of personal achievement.

I like to do something that takes my mind off of the things I stress about. I am always stressing about money, so I can't do anything that costs money. But I have found tons of things that don't cost anything. My personal favorite is a punch bag and gloves.

Skiing a bitchin powder day does it for me. When not snowing, I take a weekend and research a long winding dirt road and find a secluded campsite in the timber. Whip out the chainsaw and cut a big stack of firewood, set up chair, pull out the steaks, crack a case of beer and drink all weekend around the campfire enjoying the solitude and nature.
    Thats my cure

I work out, play a sport, do something active, etc. It releases endorphins that naturally make you feel better about yourself.

I also like to go out and go shooting...that's a good stress relief for sure.

I don't really get depressed, but I definitely get stressed. When I need to relax I get low with a little scotch and a Wes Anderson movie. I'm partial to The Life Aquatic but Rushmore and the Royal Tenenbaums are also great.

What do you like to do? Whatever makes you happiest, do it. Me in high school, I would go fishing or get my bow out and do some shooting in the backyard when I got stressed, out take my dog out for a walk in the woods.

like cory said woods/ back roads all help me. also sometimes i’ll have a nice cigar, it’ kinda eases things up a bit. go up to look out mountain or something and just sit for a few hours.

you sure you are depressed? or just feeling funky.

depressed people think things in their head like, "why is the world against me?"
"why do all bad things happen to me?"

i thought i was depressed..maybe i was. i took a group workshop at my hospital. got in a room and talked. you know what? seeing the really depressed people, made me realize, i am not that depressed..

you sleeping? hating things you used to love?
