That ^^^ is the perfect time to have a heart to heart with your dad...next time he asks you, sit down with him and let him know what you're going thru.
And BTW YOU are still YOUNG my friend, and I'm sorry to disappoint you but, I can guarantee that you'll have bigger problems/stresses in the future!

You wanna know a secret? Teachers will really let you do some extra credit work and that stuff is EEEEASY!! Stupid stuff too LOL! Watch. Go ask them. Ask them for extra credit work. I bet it will be something that you can do in one day. hehehe. I'm so bad like that...

Another thing is this: If you are struggling in a certain subject, see if your teacher will spend another few minutes after class or during break to go over things again. Sometimes it will take just one or two sessions and it will click. Perhaps the teacher is moving too fast. Don't feel stupid, just ask! Stupid is NOT asking and letting the confusion get the best of you. Don't let that happen because then, you WILL be stupid. Right?

It's only going to be a few minutes a day. And if you tell your parents that you are asking the teacher to go over things, or if you show them you are doing extra credit, guess what? That's bonus points for you!! And your parents eyebrows will raise with surprise. :D Can't disappoint them if you are showing an interest in upping your grades, that's for sure!

That was me 18 years ago...my parents were STRICT...I wasn't even allowed to go out after 6, and I had to have my homework done right after school...it was even a bigger battle to allow me to play sports in high school.
I disappointed them really badly when I got kicked out of university for my grades...it was a constant battle with them. But now, everything I have and done was thru my own (and my wife) blood and sweat. I worked really hard to be where I am today...my parents see that and are really proud of me for accomplishing what I have accomplished.
If you put your best out there and fall short, you still did your best...it doesn't matter, as long as you learn from it and do better the next time. You only fail if you quit, don't quit...keep moving forward.

I can't even express the gratitude I have from the support on this forum. Thank you all. And working harder is exactly where I'll start. As for what makes me happy....I still have no idea but that's for me to find out. Thanks.

I think that I can "read between the lines" on this. You have gotten some good advice but in the end it is ALL up to you. This is a small taste of "growing up" to the real world.

Been where you are a long time ago. First get your head straight and then go after and solve & conquer the problems that are causing your anxieties.

This sounds simple and easy ... but it will require some effort, sacrifice, dedication and hard work on your part.

In the end ... it will boil down to ... how much do you really want it ... and what are you willing to give up to get it.

Good luck and remember ... you can do it ... even if it takes you longer and you have to catch up to your friends later in college. Do some good "building blocks" now for the future. You will be glad that you did later on in life.

I don't believe that! No matter what you think about your dad right now, he's actually completely different then what you think. My dad and I never talked or got along really until I went to college, and now were are the best of friends and talk daily. I say, just open up to him and don't looks back. What's the worst that can happen?

When im feeling stressed or get cabin fever I try and either go hit the trails on my mtn bike or head to the shooting range. Ive actually left work early a few times on nice days to do this.

You kind of contradict yourself with these two bro. Your dad does care about you....he asks all the time.

I would bet money that if you really sat down and talked to your dad he would make time for you. All it takes is a little courage to man up and talk to him like one. I am no exception to alot of guys on here that have said they are best friends with their dads. I talk to my dad 2-3 times a week, my bro talks to him every day, he is 38 and I am 40. We are lucky enough to have our dad still here to guide us.

You dont need to know what to say, just start talking and you'll figure it out.

    Good luck.

Ya I hear ya, you sound a lot like me... My main motivation getting through school has been not wanting to disappoint my parents, and even in life. It makes you a good person though. There are times though, where you have to do stuff for yourself, and it will come soon...
Do this, especially as a senior, teachers want you to pass their class, and even do well.
:rofl::rofl: hahahaha I'm sorry man, I just glanced at your username, oh wow that was a good mistake
