It’s crazy people want to throw Toyota under the bus for what a specific dealer does. Maybe they should be proactive & check for recalls periodically. I know I do.

It does not matter what brand vehicle you own, whether a car or truck, salt will destroy your vehicle if you do not wash/clean/coat the underside often.
Don't complain if you don't maintain.

a few things, and some vinyl....
Seriously- climb under any truck more than 10 years old, and it's seen snow or the beach, it'll have rust.... Take care of your toys.

This is not only a Toyota issue. My brother-in-law has a 2012 Silverado quad cab that he is going to have the frame under the driver's side welded up as soon as he can. The frame has never had any rust-preventive substances applied to it. I have two brothers and this brother-in-law that drive Chevy Silverados and none of them have taken my warning about applying a rust-preventive. We live in the Rustbelt.
