Hey buddy...the law is the law. Law enforcement is a great job, however its not for everyone. The "powertrips" you speak of are because people like you cause us to get an attitude. If you show me respect i'll cut you a break if its possible, Not all the time it is possible, but i can tell you 99% of the time i can make it worse than it already is. Fact is, if you get stopped it was for a reason, take it like a man...its not the end of the world.

And to the OP, the lights in the grill that appear very blue are the ones i am referring to. Emergency vehicles are the only vehicles that can have blue lights in the front/rear. I am a LEO in Va so you might want to check your city/state code however just about every state is written the same way when blue/red lights are involved. Just and FYI those lights would be probable cause for a stop. And like i said you could be charged with impersonating because we run LED lights in our grill also, disclaimer I PERSONALLY would NOT ticket you for impersonating....UNLESS you copped an attitude and started giving me a hard time, HOWEVER it would be possible to charge you for it.

    End Rant/ :D

I only have a problem in one town near where I live. The police are simply a revenue stream. Tiny little town, and in the 1.5 miles of road I drive down daily I see people pulled over at least twice a week. If a patrol car gets behind you, just pull over because the lights are coming on regardless of how you're driving.

It was worse for me when I was driving an old economy car. I was apparently seen as a bad element and was pulled over constantly. The tickets cost enough to offset the 37mpg savings so I no longer drive that car. Martie was in the car when I was pulled over and given a ticket for running a red light when I made a right on yellow.

Things like that give the police a horrible reputation, but that kind of town is fortunately more of an exception than the rule.

I thought Martie said it was a RED light?? the way I understand it, was you stopped, and just nailed the throttle, driving into the middle of the intersection screamming "SAMMICH!".......now......I may have been drunk when I read the story......

Just and FYI....the reason this is such a big deal is because alot of people impersonate the police, just imagine your wife / GF getting pulled over by someone impersonating the police and they kidnap, rape and kill her. It happens all the time.

I try REALLY hard not to give tickets to anyone under 18. Can't speak for everyone though.

    I agree.

Although when I lived in Chicago, it was the real police doing it.

    That whole state is crap.

    To the OP:

    Keep It Simple Stupid!

You have your headlights, your foglights, your halo's, your led markers, your blinkers, damn how much lighting do you need!?! There's nothing wrong with trying to be different and standing out from the crowd, but how much is too much??

We have a city code for curfew, 11pm for anyone under 18. We enforce it also, course we wouldn't have to be so strict on it if we didn't have shots fired call's every other night in the area.
