Hi everyone! After years of wanting a Tacoma I just recently purchased my dream truck! I got an 06 TRD sport (2wd sadly) double cab, silver with 78k on the odo. Got a great deal on it from a good friend's mom who babied it since purchasing it brand new. Anyway, I am in LOVE with my truck and plan on loving it for many more years to come. This is my daily driver, family vehicle (married w/a 5 year old boy and another baby otw, sex undetermined) and most of all: MY TOY!

    So, my first question is:

WHAT DO YOU KEEP IN YOUR TRUCK???

I just bought some tie downs, bungee cords, rope, and a tarp to put in the storage under and behind the seats. In addition I also put some emergengy type supplies in there as well such as: a multi-tool, maglight, first aid kit, empty backpack, some towels, a hatchet, and a small survival type kit with items like a pocket knife, lighter, mag sparker, matches, duct tape, para cord, compass, head lamp, whistle etc.

I'm going to add some jumper cables and a small tool kit to the list in the near future.

    Any other ideas?

Actually not quite a Tacoma owner yet, I'll be getting mine somewhere inbetween the next two weeks to two months, but I figure I can chime in here.

In my ramcharger (which is my trail rig and current DD that the shiny new Tacoma will be replacing for DD duties), I carry a "full" tool box (a craftsman 200-odd piece box), tactical/trench shovel that also works as a hatchet, various fluids such as oil, power steering fluid, coolant, and atf, a compact blanket, a few lighters, matches, a fire starter stick, first aidkit, ducttape, crimp on wire connectors, a few lengths of spare wire should I ever need it for a trail fix, jumper leads, a sheath knife (after carrying a pocket knife every day for most of my life, they're great, but NOTHING beats having a good, solid sheath knife if you need it), a towel and some rags, a few bottles of water, some ratchet straps, a tow strap... I'm sure there are some things I'm forgetting as well. As soon as the taco is bought and the shock of the payment(s) starts wearing off, there will be spare parts in it as well, but for now it's having a fairly relaxed life since work and school keep me from wheeling as much as I'd like.

All this with the rear seat folded up to open up the rear "bed" area, with the spare tire just laying in the middle of said cargo area since I can't fit a 33x12.50" in the factory location. I actually have room to put the rear seat back down, but I've usually got more stuff in my truck than people, so its easier to leave it up.

When stocking your vehicle for bad situations, overkill is underrated. EDIT: I like the survivalist thread

They prefer to be called "Ladies of the Night"!!

Nothing major in my truck right now... A quick detail kit, jumper cables, napkins, a few pictures of my son, a car seat, GPS, a bottle of water, and an iPod cable... I'm sure to add to this should I ever go off the beaten path.

I have just the normal stuff everyone carries in their trucks around here -- some rope, a shovel, pitchfork, a rake, two or three boxes of shotgun shells, a first aid kit, some rags and paper towels, a couple of trailer hitch balls, a socket set, a toolbox, a chainsaw, a tarp, a couple of power cords, a charger (had a dead battery on another truck today), a couple of tow ropes and a come-along, an air compressor, a chain, some bolt cutters, a couple of cans of oil, a grease gun, a weed eater, three of four flashlights, some pruning shears, a shotgun, some left over fishing gear, a few cans of soup that got loose last time I was at the store, a new pairs of gloves that are in there somewhere but I can't seem to find, tire chains, and quite likely a cat or two as the topper's door is up because I have three gas cans in the bed that I need to fill tomorrow.

When I was in the Army I got posted TDY at a Boy Scout camp one summer as the medic and first aid instructor. We had target Mossbergs with peep sights at the range; those things were amazingly accurate. The rifle instructor and I would have competitions to see who could drive the most finish nails at 50 feet.

They will do it without a problem too! I still have the original weaver x2 scope on it It's by far my favorite gun in the collection! It's freaking heavy too with the 8# bull barrel!
