For everyday driving, I keep my portable air compressor and recovery strap.

 

Regular 10x10 tent . Use pump pipe one inside the other set the frame up and measured how far the inside needed to be out drilled it and use a pin to hold the polls in place. zip tye it to the polls with heavy zip ties. Have holes in the end of the pipe for that. Just cut the zip ties when your ready to fold the tent up. That secures that end just stake off the outer two sides. Smittybuilt 8x6 got here today.. Be a few weeks before I get that one, travel with work and hitting the mountains in two weeks riding. Same deal there, just stake off the two polls back the truck into the beach whole back end and driver side will be covered. Side of the truck is for cooking blocking the wind. use the same tent with the racing. Mounted two catch holders on the side of the trailer used zip ties on those, unless its a 25+ mph wind it holds. You know when its time to take it down if it starts looking funky like your neighbor and his new truck is going to be wearing your tent. LOL

Assortment of ratchet straps and bungees
Hose and accessories for ARB compressor

Full size spare and 3 gallons of gas on carrier.
Emergency overnight kit (basic food/water/space blanket type deal)
Wife's 3 day bag (it is her truck, my bag lives in my daily driver).
HF Moving blanket and tarp.
Towel (can't forget your towel)
Ipad with Gaia installed
Garmin Inreach GPS/Sat com

That is as far as I have gotten so far. I don't typically go offroading without preparing for a trip so naturally there would be more food, water, camping gear, cordless tools and the like if I know I am going on a trip.

What spare parts should I have on board for a 2nd gen?
My other 2nd gen being a 2wd street truck I don't carry spare parts so I am not used to what could break offroad and what is field serviceable.
In my 87 I carried a spare locking hub, upper and lower ball joints, belts, cap and rotor and inner/outer tie rod ends.

In the truck every day

Gray box and stove is my camping gear then there's the ARB bag with all my recovery gear and my tool bag with my tools. Add in a bag of clothes, hygiene items and a folding chair and that is it.

 

Haha I actually found it on Amazon. There was 1 left and it was like 120 bucks. I think that's double what the blue ones go for though.

 

It's got a schrader (sp) valve but I use my ARB dual to re pump it up. I think it would work though, yes.

 

100' of 3/8" cable with attachments on each end, 2 - 2"x20' tow straps, 20' of heavy chain, 3 large shackles, 3 logging rated pulleys, my Warn X8000i on a removable cradle, shovel, pulaski, 3lb hammer, crow bar, come along, 4 way lug wrench, extra automotive fluids, Husky 550 XP (72d bar) with extra fluids, a sled and cross country skis (in winter), various lengths of rope, and a small plastic bottle of whiskey. The small stuff is in a milk crate, and everything fits under my sleeping platform. I also have a 60" all cast hi lift which nests beside the platform, and the off road base and lift mate.



This doesn't include the socket set, wrench set, random tools box, retired climbing rope, rain gear, bottle jack (in addition to OEM jack), road flares, PB Blaster, window cleaner, roll of shop towels, and toilet paper that fits in my tool box/ dog bed where my access cab seats used to be. Then I shove a bunch of other stuff behind the front seats. This includes: framing hammer, wire fence tool, gallon of water (currently frozen), rifle scabbard (currently unoccupied), CB (because it's huge and old, and magnetic base antenna.

I won't bother to mention what I manage to stuff into my center console and glove box...

Yes, it all lives there and this is my daily driver. Dead critters are seasonal items
