I haven't seen a thread with quite the same topic. Some are geared just toward emergency needs, others are just how you use a specific compartment.

I think the lists we put up could give one another ideas as to things that would be handy to have all the time.

So, in mine I have (from memory, so I may miss a few things):

Front Left Compartment (in front of fuse panel)
    • Change

    Compartment Behind Ignition

    Glove Box
    • Gloves
    • Hat
    • Manuals/Registration
    • Bag of Band-Aids and a few alcohol wipes
    • AT&T Motorola Atrix HD (old phone, no SIM) that would work for emergency needs if necessary

    Below HVAC Controls
    • Chap Stick
    • Work RFID Badge
    • Mini Maglite
    • 12V to USB Port for Charging
    • 2.1A Charger
    • USB flash drive full of music

    To Right of Gearshift
    • Pilot G2-10 Pen
    • Ring of work keys

    Center Console
    • Extra pens (inferior to a Pilot G2)
    • Notepads
    • Microfiber cloths
    • Life Savers & Gum
    • Full size Maglite
    • Extra batteries (AA and D)
    • Other miscellaneous seldom-used keys
    • Aux Cable
    • Extra USB cable

    Under Back Seats
    • Factory tire-changing stuff (jack, arm to lower spare, lug wrench, etc.)
    • 6-ton Hydraulic bottle jack
    • Piece of a 2x4 for Jack
    • Chain (15 ft I think)
    • Jumper cables

    Behind Back Seats
    • Driver's side occupied by small subwoofer/amp
    • Hitch receiver and pins
    • Small bag of IT-related cables, etc. for work (Power cables, CAT5 cables, Cisco Console and Stacking Cables, etc.)
    • Tow strap (20 ft I think)
    • Tool bag I put together with mostly Harbor Freight stuff
    • Extra not-so-great fleece jacket
    • OBD-II Scanner
    • Snow brush/ice scraper

    Tool Bag
    • 2 Ft Breaker Bar
    • Various Pliers, Vice Grips
    • Various screwdrivers
    • 1 lb hammer
    • Set of SAE and Metric wrenches
    • Set of 3/8 drive SAE and Metric Sockets & Ratchet
    • Set of 1/2 drive SAE and Metric Sockets & Ratchet
    • Multimeter
    • Extra fuses
    • Electrical Tape

    Bed Storage
    • Bunjee Cords
    • Ratchet Straps
    • Red flag for oversize cargo
    • Rags

Things I think I should have/would like to have
    • True first aid kit
    • Some sort of small air compressor
    • Additional piece of plywood for jack
    • Additional miscellaneous tools
    • Fire extinguisher

Well I won't go as in depth with the categories as you did :p

But I always have my Glock 27, cheap pawn shop pistol, flashlights, get home bag, tarp, boots, rope, andddd a few knives here and there.

    Oh, and 3-4 different hats.

Knives remind me I do have a few, but not ideal--there is a sheetrock knife in the bag of tools and I always have a Leatherman Squirt PS4 on my keychain. Probably should throw a better one in the truck.

I have no idea but if I even think I need it it is in the truck.

I should remove the 1000 feet of 1/0 welding cable from behind the seats.

Mileage might rise from my normal 12mpg

Like wise, when towing my camper I have dedicated equipment bags that I grab as well and a bunch of other stuff. Both my vehicles have crossbars for tire changes too.

I think it's a good idea to carry a spare set of pants with you. Denim should really only be worn for a day. Can't stand it the next day.
