So little on my truck is unmolested that it's hard to say some days but...
-The factory wiring could use some help in the way of beefier grounds, etc. so that the instrument lights don't dim at idle
-Xtra cab quarter glass latches suck
    -Small early mirrors

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
What don't you like about the 3.4? You are the first person I've seen that doesn't care for it. I love mine, I believe it to be even more reliable than my 79's 22R. But I have the same problem with mine and the dang 4WD lever, but I live with it. Also really really hate the seats, they suckkkkkk monkey balls. No comment on the 5 speed option though, I got this truck to get out of a 5 speed second gen so I don't miss that aspect much. Manual trucks are a chore to drive I think. I'd much rather have a zippy little car with a manual than a truck or SUV, those things are a blast!

I also really dislike the way the cruise works. All it takes is a puff from an ant's fart to make it drop down two gears and race the engine up the slightest hill or a small headwind. Always wondered if there was a way to change out cruise systems for better ones, if there is, I am going to be looking into it big time.

The oil filter isn't bad, I've done way worse. Kinda sucks fitting my big hand back there, and sometimes I have to use sand paper to get it to come off, my filter wrench will not fit back there at all. But I found sandpaper works great for gripping it tight and twisting it off. The oil mess doesn't really bother me, I try to mop it up with old rags best I can and then take it to a carwash and spray out underneath when I'm done. I enjoy doing oil changes on my Tacoma though, I take pride in helping keep her maintained and knowing she will treat me well. It feels good doing the work to it myself. I plan to change the timing belt and water pump this summer and some other odds and ends to it before winter hits again. Then it should be good to go with just regular oil changes for another 90k miles.
