Not to say it wasn't a tin can, but it was dead reliable and cheap as hell when all I needed to move was myself. The truck is perfect for camping, exploring and moving things around (not to mention comfy!), but sometimes when I'm by myself in an empty truck running an errand or driving a long distance just to see friends, I wish I didn't have to consider fuel costs. I bought a motorcycle a couple months ago to scratch that itch and it's been working pretty well.

    Never enough, never done.
On second thought, not that I regret Toyota didn't offer a V8, I regret they didn't offer the solid front axle and LS2 that I'm having to swap in myself.

Spending $2500 on a Snugtop that is slowly coming apart at the bed rails. Knowing what I know now I'd have just bought a Bestop or Softoper. The Snugtop is only 16 months old. Not quite to the point of failing structurally but it's getting close.

I regret not knowing about the TRD supercharger when I got it. I could have fabricated a story about needing it to my wife and just rolled that cost ( which was less than $4000 back then) into the truck loan. Oh well.

I wish I could have got my truck in spruce mica but no DCSB ORs were available in that color. I like the MGM it looks great, but I like the green better.

Made a thread a while ago about loose fibers hanging down from under the rails. Dealer said no big deal and offered to file it(I said no). Fast forward to a week ago and near the door a piece of the fiber glass patch that reinforces the corner on the driver side is separating.

@SnugTop pretty much says go to the dealer. They won't even discuss the problem and have a bad attitude about it.

Starting to regret the roof rack I attached to my roof, first gens don't have rails to attach it to so you have to drill it in. It doesn't seal well against the roof and I've started to notice some leakage in the headliner from inside the cab :( Can't take the roof rack off or I'll have big exposed holes in my roof. Can't think of a way to patch it that wouldn't look like shit. Bought some black RTV silicone and sealed all around the hinges so hopefully that takes care of it...

Have you tried rubber anchor bolts? As you tighten the bolt, the rubber expands on the inside of the drilled mounting hole sealing out any leaks. IMG_4224.jpg

Yeah that's exactly what I used, came with the kit. I even put a bead of silicone around them when I set them in but it's still leaking, on both sides :(

I think I tightened a couple of them too tight though because there was a "crack" and the screw is now loose, I wonder if I split the rubber nut? I should probably just remove the whole thing and try putting new ones in.

Definitely replace. If you heard a pop, the rubber probably split causing the leaking. Get some new ones at lowes or home depot in the fastener section. They dont need to be super tight. If they get too tight, the extra expansion of the rubber expands into the sharp edges of the sheet metal of the roof and the rubber nuts split and break.

Thats what I feared, dunno how easy it'll be to get those rubber nuts out if they're expanded but Ill give it a shot one of these days. For now I just sealed the hell out of the brackets with black silicone so hopefully that'll do the trick for awhile
