Not having a rear locker. Went with the TRD sport 4x4 for the looks. No Rear locker was a concern at the time of purchase but the off road had chrome bumpers and no scoop.. Now I'm searching for a rear locker mod..

Im on the fence about whether or not i regret not getting a long bed. 80% of the time i dont, but there are times it would be nice. I have a nice 5x8 trailer so that was my justification as well as being a little more compact.

I havent tested it out too much yet, but the rear suspension sure is soft. Does anyone have pictures of 1200 pounds in the bed, the truck must be doing a wheelie.

Yep - x2 No buyers remorse here. At 66, I've owned just about one of everything (multiple trucks and sports cars) on wheels. My Tacoma Sport is everything I expected. What it didn't have that I wanted, I added. I have never owned any vehicle as long as many on this forum, but if I own this one for a few years, I doubt that it will disappoint.

Wanted a long bed with manual tranny, my only choice was access cab. Maybe would like to have A-TRAC, but later down the road I might throw a Detroit TrueTrac in there, combined with the yellow wire mod, should have excellent traction in 4L. Also wish I had heated mirrors and a sunroof, but those can both be fixed.

A couple people on this forum have had good luck with the Detroit TrueTrac. It's a fully automatic locker with no ratcheting, etc. Not noticeable on pavement but kicks in when one tire loses traction. They said the Auto LSD was a good compliment for helping the locker switch from one side to the other.

Navigation. Damn, I wish I would've bought one with navigation. But didn't even think about it when I was buying. Shame on me.

You would be surprised what a quick swirl of cheap car wax will do for those superficial scratches. Takes 20 seconds.

So adding a locker keeps the LSD in place and works with it? I was looking at the Arb, thought it cancels out the LSD no?

Buying a truck in blue ribbon metallic. It's a beautiful color for a bro dozer or mall crawler but it shows every little scratch.

Other than that, nothing. I got the exact truck I wanted. The only way it could've been better is if the long bed was available with a stick and it isn't so the short bed was an easy choice.

The later 2nd gens have an essentially open diff, so you are free to swap in whatever 3rd member you want. The TRAC, Auto LSD, A-TRAC, etc are all controlled by the brakes. As far as I know it would not be affected negatively

I sometimes wish I had 4 wheel drive and all that comes with it. I love my truck just the way it is, though some of y'all would hate my 2.7l access cab. It gets the job done.

Kinda wish I had gotten 4WD but I know it would rarely get used. Plus it would have been about $5k extra on the used car market. Which is 50% more that I paid for my truck.

you know, what i really regret is spending so much time on this site. there's a pretty solid correlation between hours spent reading here and dollars spent somewhere else.

Ha ha I think the same thing - the grille on the '16 is just plain hideous.

We got the access cab since we don't have kids and hardly take passengers, but now I regret getting the access cab because it's sometimes a pain in the arse to get the suicide door open when some a-hole parks too close to my truck. The double cab would be a little easier to get access to the back so that is my only complaint with the access cab

I thought the same thing, but then I realized that I could get a better navi for cheaper after market if I wanted, plus I was told the only way to get Navi in the Tacoma was to get the JBL system and I learned with my Rav4 limited that the JBL system is NOT worth the money so I opted out of the navi. I just use my phone via bluetooth for times I need navigation

I have the same problem. Twins.. I bought the most compact (and expensive I think) car seats just to fit them in the back seat. Worth it though. I'm 5'10" and can fit comfortably.

    +1

I put a coat of wax on mine a few weeks ago and this weekend my buddy's German shepherd jumped up on the side of the truck. Looks like she scratch about 10 inches of the left bed side and almost made me cry. Then I just wiped it off with a rag.

I love love love my 2013 AC SR5 4x4 but I should've kept and paid off my '07 Prerunner first. Considering selling and buying a 4banger first gen until money's a little more stable. Otherwise, I'm still driving my dream truck! 4WD and limited slip are two things I'm sure glad to have.

This is my only regret too. Awesome truck and have had a blast with it in the few short months I've owned it.
