I tell them to go compare their blue book value to mine after hitting the trail to see which is more offroad worthy.

Ask how many vehicles they've been thru in the timeframe that you've had your one Toyota.....or if they've even ever had a vehicle that lasted over 25 yrs of daily driving and offroad use/abuse.

I laugh because before every time he goes on a four wheeling, his Jeep is being repaired or modified!

I just remove my work gear from the Tacoma, and pack my camping gear, AND GO! Oh, and after my four wheeling trip, I unload the camp gear and reload the work gear... and drive to work!!!

It is hilarious... His last trip with a Jeep Rubicon, a shock mount broke... Really?!!

i tell them mine will always have a higher resale value than any other make any day of the week, and that toyotas are assembled in America. 1 in 10 Chevys are made in China and if they ever pay attention to the truck commercials pulling shit that you always see a ford/chevy/dodge but you never see them add a toyota in there on the same commercial because they know toyotas would put them to shame...and to shut the F**K UP!!

I hear this all the time. I live in a rural area with lots of rural people to put it nicely.

I am a hick. I can admit it. At one point, I was one of these guys. :anonymous:

Hell, I used to swear by GM , I have had Dodges and I have had a Ford. I just got EXTREMELY sick and tired of being nickled & dimed by them. I pride myself in taking great care of my vehicles too. But there was always something, leaking fluids, electrical issues, check engine lights, random shit breaking, ball joints at 45K...

I am so glad I bought this truck! I will never go back!

Anyways, I just tell them to call me when they need a jump or a ride home from the mechanic's shop. Or I tell them to check where their vehicle was REALLY built. Mine was built in the good ol US of A!

However, I have noticed that there are an ever increasing amount of Toyotas in the area. :woot:

    (Long post, my appologies)

I just ask if they want to go wheeling. I've never had anyone accept.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
It don't really matter how long that they last, what matters is how they are taken care of; that determines how long they last. If you abuse and neglect both a Tacoma and a domestic truck, both are going to go to hell fast. Maintain and take care of them, they will last a very long time. Automotive technology is way better now than it was in say the 70s, majority of cars today are lasting twice as long as they were 20 years ago. You really can't go wrong with whatever you choose to buy. I know if I needed a fullsize, I'd be sitting in a F150 right now.
