I like mine, it's a nice feature. If you're worried about it failing on you, it's definitely not a very common issue, if at all. How often do you read about them failing? Not very often.

In my opinion, having the button makes it easier to 'shift' into 4wd on the fly than it is using a shifter.

On the other hand though, I do understand why somebody would prefer a manual engagement over the electronic outfit.

Love mine. When I feel the locked rear wheels sinking in the sand I hit the 4wd and it starts churning away.

I don't have the limited package, no color matched flairs, no cm door handles, no cm bumper and no chrome side mirrors (you missed that one) but I do have the push button 4wd.

Well aren't you special, Mr. Button?

I still don't know exactly why some are J and others are I w/button. Maybe it was a change between 01 and 02. I would go look in my truck to see if the manual includes both, but I am too lazy and obviously don't care enough.

Maybe in the manual, but the auto has it too... Mine is an auto with push button, it's an '03, that's why I was curious about the Limited, but I don't have the color matched flairs and other snazzy stuff on the exterior.

Anybody know if the Double Cab back seat raises up ?

My '01 DC TRD AUTO has the button and I love it too!

the seat back folds down, but to lift the seat up u need to unbolt it and remove. its easy actually, I do it for my dog sometimes

Noooo, the OP's pic is auto... VVV

Hmm, so there is an 01 with the button. I swear I test drove another 01 when I was looking for mine and it had the button, and it was TRD SR5 5 sp, but not limited.

Damn. So maybe it was just on option?

See, mine is an SR5 TRD, but has the J shifter. Maybe an option exclusive of trim package :goingcrazy:
