Pick your top 3 lift setups and buy them all, overtime if you have too. You can always sell the setups you do not like pretty quickly in the for sale section and get a decent resale rate, I have with 2 different lifts. Almost everybody on this site will tell you the best lift is what they have on their truck. And that it rides so good because that is all they know. :der: Especially some of the OME guys, I fell for that trap my first time around. Take peoples opinions with a grain of salt, like many others on here have said before. Talk to someone you know personally or someone who has ran more than one setup on your style Tacoma. Good luck

You are correct. Trial and error was the only way for me.

I too subscribe to the trial and error method. Like, I've had 3 sets of tube steps and sliders until I've decided to stick with the ones I have now. I also started my suspension off with a DR coilover set (now ICON), but it was soooo good that I stayed with them and am totally happy I have.
With suspension components, many times you DO get what you pay for. Examples are blocks are cheapest and a full dampening coilover set with extra travel is the most expensive.

I am going to say Icon and custom built Deavers. Spendy, but I got what I wanted and it works great for a multi-purpose vehicle. I had my Deavers built to hold an extra 500lbs of weight sitting static.

That is exactly what I am saving up for. I have been waiting a while. I have read about every thread across multiple forums and ICON and Deavers are really reliable. I hate the price but I go quality or I dont go at all.

I put the OME + Dakar kit (885, 6 leafs) on my 2010 DC TRD Off-Road.

The stock suspension was entirely inadequate.
My truck is used 90% street and 10% dirt roads with some bad sections.

The OME kit fixed all the issues I had with the stock suspension- on and off road.
It's like the suspension you would like to have come with your truck.
No more, no less - a decent compromise all around (like all stock suspension should be, but far superior), and probably fits most people's needs rather well.
