I put a pioneer 4300 HU in my truck .. And I must say I was amazed how it spounded .. So I was thinking of maybe putting a 8" sub in and have a amp just run for the one 8" sub. And use the HU for the doors speakers What would you buy guys buy as fare as amp and sub ?

If you add anything, add with the future in mind. If you are never going to upgrade anything else then sure go for it. If you think you might want to upgrade door speakers and amplify them, don't waste your time buying things you are going to replace when you do that.

    ^^^ = extremely good advice.

Can't tell you how many times I failed to follow it, resulting in doing my best to kick myself in the rear.

Good advice and all, but there is no reason you cannot get a sid 8" sub and not replace it later...

A jbl gto8 and a 250-400w amp would be my #1 choice, probably ported if you are comfortable building a box.

Also - I too have bought, then sold without thinking... Keep that in mind for all your upgrades!
