This is probably the max I've towed.......Well, maybe a Uhaul trailer with furniture, but I have no idea of the weight. This is probably 2700-2800, loaded. Personally, I have no intention of towing more than 3500, just for my own comfort.

I typically tow an 18ft Crownline boat. The truck does fine besides the mpg. We want to buy a 5100 lb. 24 ft. bunkhouse, I think this is too much. Outside of a weight distributing hitch and electronic brake controller, should I get airbags and change out the shocks too? The rear leaf springs were replaced as part of the recall. I would tow the camper over 100 miles twice a year. Of course the camper sales guy says I'll be fine.

It would just get pulled to the lake from storage most of its life. I really don't want to go up to a Tundra and would not gain much by getting a Sequoia instead. Thanks.

I tow a travel trailer that weigh's 5600#s and I do have the ride rite air bags. But I tow my TT all over the place, usually a total of 3000 miles over the summer. If your only towing the TT a short distance twice a year, then I honestly wouldn't worry about it. The truck will handle it fine. The first year I towed my TT I did not have the air bags and it did just fine.

So what's the GVW of the trailer? Is the GVW under the 6500 GVW of the taco? I pull a 23' TT that GVW is 6065 and have no problem pulling it.

Is that a toy hauler in the back? If so that would explain the light weight for its size.

My 23 foot trailer that is 3940lbs dry, typically 4450lbs when fully loaded with a GVWR of 4950lbs.

This pic is summer 2016. Since then the truck has received a new suspension, canopy, and other goodies. Trailer is about to come out of hibernation. Rockwood MiniLite 2306 MY16.

GVWR is 7,400lbs (previously stated 6500). UVW is 4,300 lbs. hitch weight is 450lbs. My truck is supercharged, with big brakes. No issues at all.
