I know in British Columbia they are very sticky with the GVW of the trailer and of the truck if the the trailer is over the truck GVW. They'll make you unhook get a vehicle that and get a vehicle that GVW matches the trailer and probably give you a ticket. I'm not sure how every state is with the GVW but I would check that out before you go camping and th DOTS stop you and check your weights of both.

I just picked up a 2018 1805RB. Truck seems to have a bit of sway even with sway control, but I am starting to think the tires may be contributing the sway. Any suggestions?

Congratulation on your 1805.. nice RV huh...!
Your right, I would guess your tires.. still nothing to be concerned about until your ready to purchase new tires... besides, your not pulling the RV all the time.. I have 33" Tires with 20" wheels.. I just recently about a month ago installed the AirBag kit. This will give the back end a little relief from the tongue weight of the RV ..
Send a photo, I would like to see you hooked up there...

    Take care.

little truck and long trailer mean accident waiting to happen
a long trailer is like a huge boat sail
one cross wind and its all over no matter what sway system you use

I'll try and get a photo of it in the yard this weekend. I have another question specific to the 1805RB; Is the water heater equipped with a bypass and, if so, how do you get to it? I did a cursory look behind the one drawer in the left side of the kitchen and it doesnt seem to be close enough to get to the back of the water heater.

    Thanks

Are you going to the big little rally? Aug 11-13 at pymatuning?

What once was a 1978 Starcraft StarMaster 8. After I bought it for $100 my friends and I stripped it down to the frame and then rebuilt it.

That Tent Trailer is badass. We upgraded to a regular travel trailer. Want to downgrade so bad to save fuel and make it easier to store. Nice job.

Thanks. It was quite a project. But it helps with friends. It is basically a hunting camper. Turkey and deer seasons. We have made a number of improvements since the rebuild in 2007. Will be building a new roof this summer. The current one has just become too heavy for the lift system AND ME! Trying to plan out some light weight materials.

I do not know... why would I consider bypassing the water heater?
I may have found my answer, for winterizing? I did nothing this past winter.. this is the first RV ever owned!...
What I would like to know is how to drain the entire system and put fresh water in...

    thanks

Should be there around the hotwater tank somewhere.. You want a bypass valve so that when you winterize and run rv antifreeze through your lines it doesn't get into the hot water tank.. in the spring you open it back up once you've flushed the system.

I have no idea what that is, even after googling it.

Best wishes to your father. I hope things work out for him and he makes it to the rally.

Its a big camping rally (100+ trailers) at Pymatuning State Park in Pennsylvania. Its put on by Bill Kerola of Kerala Campers in Transfer Pa for those who own small campers (teardrops, a-liners, Serro-Scottys, hi-lo's, etc of which he is the owner of the companies) Its a lot of fun with lots of food and live entertainment. They make it like a car show and have judges so people can show off their trailer mods and stuff. I would highly recommend if you're in the area and not doing anything that weekend to check it out.

Thx for my dad. He's been through a lot lately. I'd probably have to start a thread just to cover some of the crap that has happened to him.
